Why do people lack knowledge of russian people and treat them like crap?

ever since ive been living in NZ about 12 years now and im 16, alot of people at my school think my country is bad, a few people in my class thought russia was bad in cold war and america and its allies were good, i told them there was no good or bad sides and both feared each other. Why do alot of people treat russian people like crap, my teacher was from england he kept going on about wanting to buy russian woman online and it really offends me. alot of people think russian women are cheap,russia is stupid and evil country and some people ive meet hate russians? i know it could to do with history and lack of teaching about russian people, but alot of people from other european countrys like poland,germany and such think my country is awesome :S , i dont understand why are some people so disrespectful towards russians. I also cant stand having to see alot of hollywood movies and games potraiting russians as bad evil monsters. All American movies potray russians as terroists :S? why?

Not all Americans think badly of Russia and its people. Russians are awesome and the language is incredible!!! Unfortunately, most Americans are notorious (because of a sad lack of education) for putting down every culture that's not American because they don't know better. Also most Americans only know what they see on television and do not educate themselves futher. Pathetic. The American media is terrible, airing only unflattering stories about Russia, like the one about the "school for women" which teaches Russian women how to dress and act likes whores to find rich husbands.
Reply:Just so you know, Hollywood isn't nice about any race or nationality that isn't white American so don't let that bother you. And a lot of foreign men think that American women are sluts even though it's not true. Report It

Reply:Most of Americans I know can't have their judgments changed, they're somewhat like a wall being built, each time a mistake made, its just built upon until it starts to crumble upon itself.

if they ever visit your country they will change their mind


but less than 1% of people will do this.





so you can only try to be a goodwill Ambassador or a representative of Russia and try to educate people.
