People always seem to think biracial people are better than single raced people, why?

I'm Latino. But I have friends who are mixed, one who is Korean/White, Korean/Black, Puerto Rican/Asian, Black/Persian, Guatemalan/White, Indian/Chinese and a few other mixes.

And no matter what when I describe my mixed friends to other friends (while showing my pictures, people ask questions) they are amazed like being biracial is something special.

I love my friends and they are special, but not because they are biracial, because they are great people.

People also assume all biracial people are gorgeous, all of my friends are gorgeous but I've seen some ugly mixed race people.

I'm just worried about falling in love with someone from another race b/c don't want my kids growing up getting way too much attention for being biracial. I don't want people constantly asking them what race they are or telling them they are pretty BECAUSE they are mixed, like single race people arent pretty!

Why is our culture obsessed with biracial people, at least in my experience they are.

People always seem to think biracial people are better than single raced people, why?
they want to be so modern. Sometimes people think dating interracially is better too. And your right i have seen some ugly a** biracial people before. They are not special, just human, get over it people.
Reply:I don't know. If I posted a question saying white people are the prettiest race or black is the prettiest race I would be called racist. If I made a board saying a biracial person is the prettiest race nothing would happen though. Why not? All three of those instances are generalizing so why do 2 of them get bashed on and 1 is accepted? Double standard. Or should I say triple standard? lol
Reply:Speaking from experience, I've found that bi-racial folks generally ARE more attractive. I deal with a large population of college-age people every day where I have to ask them to choose a racial classification for EEOC purposes. I have no bias and no preconceived notion about any one group being better than another, but for physical attractiveness and an exotic quality, the mixed race kids are standouts more often than their single race peers.
Reply:Just another facet of racism. They think it is okay because it is "positive" racism.
Reply:It's a funny thing, and you're right. People are kind of obsessed with other people's ethnic background.

While I think there are beautiful mixed people...I find single raced people just as beautiful aswell.

But I think there's some kind of prestige put on someone for having the most exotic backgrounds.

Unfortunately, being just white, just asian, just latino, just black...is sometimes thought as boring.

I mean, look at most hip hop music videos and you'll find most of the girls are mixed race...Azzareya, LaShontae, and so on. It's almost as like you're not beautiful unless you're mixed or unless your from a certain country or background. It's weird.
Reply:I personally think the same thing about biracial people and I can say that my answer for this would be because biracial people are different not special but different!!!!!! You see black people all the time especially in a black family! You see whites all the time especially in a white family! But you just don't wake up in the morning and run into a guatemalaian or a puerto rican at the end of the street and when you do it's a small family that just moved in town from new york or somewhere. and sometimes it's just a new look outside of the box that's impressive to some people! do you know that a good sum of people never leave their hometown? not for vacation or a job move or anything..!! so to see someone of a differeft lifestyle and color and speech is amazing to others just because they haven't seen it before. So just be patient with us ok? and we apologize for makin' a spectacle out of some gorgeous otherwise unknown to the rest of us humans that happen to have an ancestry other than AA or caucasian!!!. Be blessed and don't be scared to acknowlede the fact that you are beautiful !!!! and your friends too!!!
Reply:I do not.....they're just people.......not all biracial people are gorgeous.......they're just like any other man or woman..........people need to grow up an stop trying to separate all of society.........this is the reason there are still wars and whole lot odf craziness going on in the world..........WE ALL NEED TO BE ONE
Reply:I respect that of you for coming up and saying that and you're 100% correct. It doesn't matter what your backround is, you're a good person and part of the human race. Lo tenga mucho amigos en Milwaukee Wi. Ademas, una novia philipina y estamos enamorados. No escutcha a los otros. Ellos sabe nada.
Reply:Lolololololol.

Ohh boy, that was funny.

I can't help laughing. Get over it. I'm considered "just white" by most people who never ask and I've no less then seven heritages of seven seperate cultures who, by the by, look only nominally alike in skin tone and nothing alike in build and structure. My husband has four "races". People all over the world care, they get happy or mean, it happens. But to choose or fear to date because of "future" kids?

I'd hate having ugly kids and worry about marrying a man who is everything you want and happens to be far from "pleasing" to the eyes! But worry over each race because of possible kids? People in europe always wanted to know my race and my families linage, friends too. It's a question that happens. Your kids if they are blessed with good looks will be liked for that, race regardless and learn to handle thier lives according to your teaching. Worry about the guy loving you back, not about the future you don't have yet.

Why are people so "anti skinny", people think that just because I'm skinny i dont eat or i'm bulemic...

Y does nobody, think that i have a fast metabolisim instead of thinking i dont eat or im bulemic. What's so wrong with being skinny? People always feel bad for fat people, but not for skinny people, and they just assume that it's easier to gain weight than to loose it. People ask people "are you bulemic," or "are you anorexic?" but people never ask "do you not exercise or something?" to fat people. wats up with that? why, all of a sudden, since we have so many overweight people in the U.S., is everyone being so mean to thin people, and bashing us for being so thin. I eat, i exercise, and i have a fast metabolism. It's not my fault. ( not offense to overweight people) People just assume that skinny people have some kind of problem :(

Why are people so "anti skinny", people think that just because I'm skinny i dont eat or i'm bulemic...
I know exactly what you mean. I am 5 ft 10 124-130 pounds (give or take 5 pounds due to water loss or consumption during distance runs). Doctor says im fine. What people don't realize is that making negative comments to skinny people about being skinny hurts just as bad as saying negative comments to fat people about being overweight. Saying "Your too skinny" can be just as hurtful as saying "Your too fat".

I get this garbage all the time from people. It is really annoying and makes me feel inferior and sometimes angry because its not my fault its just my body type and healthy active lifestyle (Which most Americans don't have). I get "Your so skinny. Whats wrong with you!?". Or "Your too skinny. You need to eat more!" etc. I would never say negative stuff to someone who was fat or skinny.

Peoples sizes are based on so many different factors like metabolism, how much a person exercises, body types, how much muscle mass they have, etc. So people should really stop jumping to negative conclusions towards skinny people.

Just remember this if you are eating enough (Your hunger is satisfied) and you feel good then being skinny is perfectly normal and certainly is not a problem. Based on what you said there is nothing wrong with you. I love "healthy" slender skinny women and I don't care at ALL about chest size. Just ignore the negative comments about your skinniness and tell them to bug off.
Reply:You need to get some new friends because I never hear anyone bash skinny people. Seriously, you are surrounded by haters if they are talking crap to you.
Reply:Don't worry about them as long as your healthy it doesn't matter what others think. I guess people just assume that if your skinny you must have some kind of problem which isn't right.
Reply:It's not all people, hon. I loooooove skinny women!! Especially the really flat chested ones. Don't worry about the things people say, there are always others who hold different opinions.
Reply:I don't have a problem with skinny people, but they always want to try to say they eat as much as everyone else when they don't. I have skinny people in my faimlies, and they do not eat as much as others, they just don't, and it's cool, we always beat them up.
Reply:Don't be mad my friend, I'm a guy that 5'7" and 138lbs. I'm a small fry I've tried many ways to gain weight and be big like football players or at least normal guys but to no avail. Once I realize that I'll never be a big guy, I became happy with myself and my body. Has long has you work out and take care of yourself you should be fine. People will always have bad things to say, just rise above friend!
Reply:People are stupid and mean. they think you can't just naturally be skinny. Just like they think you can't be naturally blonde. I am natural blonde, and ignorant people ask me all the time what "color" I use. Somebody even had the guts to say "it looks fake". Sheesh.

Just be content to be you, and be polite to fat folks, and the rude ones are just jealous and suspicious anyway, it's their problem, not yours.
Reply:people have to realise that there are DIFFERENT body types and some people are just naturally slim... people are either jealous or ignorant... people suck sometimes dont they? just be yourself and laugh in others faces when they are being so sh!t
Reply:I would guess it's envy. They're jealous that you can eat as you wish to and they can't. Although part of the reason you can eat as you wish is that you do exercise. I was always envious of people like that, but I don't put them down. I sort of feel sorry for you because I had a friend who was so slim she couldn't get jeans that would fit her.
Reply:I know; I am in the same park and you are absolutely correct; I know that Hollywood and the model industry likes to praise really skinny women and most agree that there is something terribly wrong with that doesn't mean naturally skinny women should be bashed too; the people who bash or make fun of skinny women are no different than the modeling industry putting someone down for not fitting their standard of beauty

All sizes should be embraced as long as the person is healthy on the inside
Reply:people will never be satisfied with the human body as it is, they need illusions, **** them. Your body is perfect the way it is
Reply:girl i know exactly how you feel. just yesterday i had to get on somebody about calling me anorexic. and the day before that bulimic. i know it hurts. people think only when fat people have there weight made fun of it hurts but it is the same for people like us. you know what i just noticed a lot of the people who say it to me are fairly big. i really try not to let it get to me. i started to eat more but then i got big and i didn't like how i looked and i didn't like that i was trying to change myself to make other people happy so then you know what i started to just eat like i normally do which is still A LOT( you would be surprised). and you know what i just bump those people and just tell myself that those people are haters and they wished they looked as good as me. you better tell yourself the same. and PS email me i want to be friends. and i am talking about something i am experiencing now being 12 years old not 40 years old talking about my past experiences in like 1950!
Reply:It is the fat ones that have the problem.
Reply:Because it looks unnatural..=)

Do u think people are attracted to similer CHARACTERESTIC.?
For the most part I think people seek a mate who has things in common with them.

But there are also characteristics we seek that we admire or broaden our horizons. Someone shy and quiet might like a more vocal or boisterous partner. Someone who is dark %26amp; moody might seek someone who cheers them up and can brighten their day when noone else can. Someone who is reserved might seek the adventure that a bad boy/girl can give.
Reply:most times it is always the case
Reply:well thats a pretty hard and interesting question.. actually, i think it depends on the person... Because everybody know that a poor woman, wants a rich husband.. But we also know that a person who cares about his health is not going 2 like a person who doenst care about his health and doing alot of unhelthy things... everything depends on the person..

For people from the domnican republic or lived there is it that bad based on what this person has said?

Dear Slicksport, I visited the DR in the early 90s with a national and lived with his family in two different places. The DR is like a 3rd world country in most areas. Your best bet would be to go with a government type job to an established medical center. I spent time in the capitol city. The people did not have electricity except when the government decided to turn it on for a few hours per day. Most water is obtained through wells. Children had to walk for miles to attend grade schools. The government section of the city had electricity most of the time(but not always.) the people in that small section of the city were a little better off than the rest. His relatives in that area had a more comfortable home than the others we stayed in. As a white person, I went to areas where they did not usually see white people and they were very shocked. The carker a person is the more they are prejudiced against. My friend and his siblings ranged from light-like Italian to light-skinned black. He had a very dark black friend who talked about being very prejudiced against by the nationals. The government is socialistic from what I understood. the river that went through the city, the main water supply, was charcoal gray.

In the rural area where we stayed the people were open and friendly. No running water or electricity. The small town we came through is some kind of tourist city. The tourist resort area is nice and expensive. The cost of living is much, much less than ours if you live like the people. Learn Spanish! Get your shots! There are not a lot of medical facilities there. Their salaries are low and most people live in poverty, unless they have an education-like lawyers and government workers. When I was there, there were soldiers carrying weapons openly on the streets-if you are prepared for that. Because of the poverty, there is a lot of medical problems and crime. My friend bribed a customs guy at the airport to get a 32" screen tv in for his mother. Voodoo is practiced there-if you are ready for that. Are you aware of some of the medical situations that you would be seeing? I got a wierd rash there and was able to buy some sauve at a local drug store with the help of my friends. Do not drink the water or use any ice! Catch the rain like they do! I got really sick from using ice in one pop. I almost passed out and could barely walk for two days. Thank God my friends mother is a naturalist healer! She gave me a tea made from grapefruit leaves with a large amount of salt in it. It cleared me up by the 2nd day. The country is lush. The people like baseball, as a few of the countrymen have broken out of poverty by going pro.

A sad story. I was visiting other relative's rural home, I saw about a 3 year old girl sitting in the nieghbors yard. I glanced at her at different points of the day, from going in and out of the house and their yard. And the outhouse was in between the two houses. After a 3 hour visit, I commented that the little girl was very quiet and sure had not moved around a lot. She had two older brothers who would go in and out of their house and yard. I had seen her in a few different spots during the day. But I had not seen anyone interact with her for more than a few minutes at a time. They all told me that she had been born with a spinal condition and would never walk. The family did not have the money to take her to a medical Dr. I met her and her family. She liked me a lot. She doesn't talk. She sits in a woven chair that has a whole in the middle for when she goes to the bathroom. It was deplorable. I almost threw up at the idea of her existence. But instead, I spent a few minutes with everyone interacting with her. Something I always wonder about is if she is alive and what her quality of life is, if it ever improved? What would be done with a girl like that after her mother died? I can only imagine what possible abuse might occur.

I visited the local rural school and spoke with two of the classes. There were no maps and only a few things on the walls. They did have some books and there were doors to lock to keep thieves out. Most people still do not get to go to school. I knew and have seen people live in worse conditions, but it is still heart-wrenching to see it. The zoo is interesting, on open model, to see.

That is my overview. I hope that I gave you some insight and some info to consider. I would really check out the situation that you are going to and have a job before you go there. I enjoy latin people and their cultures. It's best to be prepared before you go. Medical people are desperately needed and you could make an impact if that's what you want. If you want to breeze by, pick somewhere else. Most of the 3rd world countries I have been in, there is not running water or electricity even at the hospitals. The emergency rooms usually have plastic over them or are just open to the outdoors, where other people are. Mexico just had plastic. Liberia, Africa the door was open. Russia, they had facilities but no equipment or medicine to give out in their communist way. Most of these countries still wash out plastic tubing used to run blood and medicines-just for an idea.

I do not want to discourage you in any way, just reporting honestly. I am wondering why you would want to go there? Look it up on the web.

For people from the domnican republic or lived there is it that bad based on what this person has said?
The DR is not that bad just like Haiti. There are places that are worst than others just like America. Vodou is practiced there mostly by the border to Haiti. In the DR it is called Veinte-Uno Divisiones. It is a rich, strong religion like the culture. The DR is lucky because it got the lush, green part of the island. Don't let a report from the 90's discourage you from going. One thing for sure if don't drink the water. The rest you should be fine. do you have a guide to help you through the country?
Reply:All 3'rd world countries are very bad. I do know a wonderful, young Christian couple who came from there [their families broke away from the traditional catholism and became born- again believers] . This couple met while going to school in N.Y.C. they went back to the D.R.for the wedding. I know she wore a beautiful gown and had a lovely wedding, her parents gave them land to build on, for when they return in a few years. So I guess it all depends on the family's circumstances, because I know she was living with a relative in N.Y.C. and was only allowed to date with a chaperone.

A quick refresher course, lest we forget, on what has happened to many "friends" of the Clintons ...

1-James McDougal - Clinton 's convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack while in solitary confinement. He was a keywitness in Ken Starr's investigation.

2 -Mary Mahoney - A former White House intern was murdered July 1997at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House.

3- Vince Foster - Former White House counselor and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock's Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.

4- Ron Brown - Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown's skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller committed suicide.

Fake PEople?

Why do people like to copy what other people wear? Like i knwo some people think its cool. But Why cant people jsut be themselves and act liek themselves. Why do people care so much waht other people think? Wouldnt people WANT to be thierselves and act like thierselves..instead of wanting ot be something they arent' Why do people have to follow trends and styles just for people to think they are cool or rich or to make themselves seem popular? Alot of people want to have thier own styles too.. but i think thats a trend too for people wanting too ALL want TO BE RAndom AND HAVE THIER OWN FASHION.. so idk? jsut wondering?

Fake PEople?
People try to imitate others not always because they are pressured to do it or to fit in. Some people actually develop a sense of liking towards someone else's fashion sense. Some people however, get really desperate and think that the only way to fit in to society is to dress up like everyone else. It's kinda hard to stand on your own personal style when the people around you are so different.
Reply:well, you cant blame them. LIke people say, If you cant beat them, join them. thats one of the ways to survive.
Reply:if u see someone and think she's cool or pretty, of course u'l want to copy her style so that u'll look cool and pretty like her right?

like how brands get celebs to endorse their products, people will think, she's a great actress, i wanna be like her, i'll buy that product!

it works the same way
Reply:I hate people like that. its probably because they look up to you, there jelous of you, or they want to be like you. people like that are really annoying.,... speak it sister
Reply:so whats the question? :-
Reply:|some ppl do that to be popular because they see other ppl dress like that and get amired so they want to or they just think its kool,i know its eal stupid
Reply:i agree with you my friend is like that she thinks she will be cool if she wears it
Reply:So great isn't it? Everyday is exactly the same...

It goes away more after high school.. but you still have the zombies... who eventually just fall apart cause they have no idea who they are anymore.. and they try to drag others down with them.

It's not necessarily about wanting to fit in.. but being afraid of not fitting in. Being the outcast, being alone. When the truth is - and may I add people fear the truth more than anything - every living thing dies alone.
Reply:beacuse copying people IS being themselves, thats what they do, there into fashion and like wut they wear, thats y they wear it, they wouldnt wear it if they didnt like it, so it isnt fake they just see something they like, and people care wut other ppl think just so they can feel better about themselves if people think there cool or like wut they have, and not to be embarrased if they dont (stupid but w/e some ppl do) AND sry but this really annoys me wen ppl call other ppl fake and posers, when usually they dont know the other person well enought to judge them, and if u (in general) think there fake, there not, they just like to go with the trends, it just means there into fashion, not fake, and u said u had a problem with ppl being "fake" but then r u askin bout ppl dressing all random and how they feel, u cant catagorise every person who dresses wierd under a "random" catagory, becuase each person who dresses random isnt doin it to be cool, there doin it to express themselves, because the each person who dresses reanomly does it different, so every person gets there own group
Reply:i wish that ppl weren't that way too like being fake. But the world is not perfect!!!!
Reply:I'm glad to not be the only person who is aware of this. They are weak. They think they might not fit in if they act like themselves.

Then the world would cease to turn...
Reply:Lovergirld16,

It's called lack of personality, lack of self-confidence and lack of self-esteem. Unfortunately a lot of people don't think they are good enough (when they actually are) so they tend to copy others because they think they have more to bring to the table (not so).

Reply:Maybe what they are wearing is who they are. Maybe they like the trends. Why do you judge them as people who "think they are cool or rich or to make themselves seem popular"?
Reply:I know where you're coming from but give people a break.

A lot of teenagers want to dress like everyone else so they fit in.

There is nothing wrong with enjoying fashion.

Ron Paul Leads in Polls of People Who Have Heard Him Speak

by Jennifer Haman

by Jennifer Haman

DIGG THIS

After the first three debates on National television, three mainstream news channels featured polls asking the American people who won. After the first debate on May 3rd, MSNBC ran a poll obtaining over 72,000 responses showing Ron Paul was the most convincing candidate receiving 45% of the vote. His nearest competitor was Mitt Romney who received 18%. Fox news ran its own poll after the second debates on May 15, and with over 40,000 votes Ron Paul came in second with 25% of the vote. Watching Sean Hannity's face was priceless as while he was saying that Ron Paul's chances were over in this election, Fox's polling numbers flashed across the screen and had Ron Paul in the lead. He immediately did his best spin to claim the polls had been rigged. MSNBC also ran a poll about that debate and discovered Ron Paul was, again, the most convincing candidate with 64% of the over 25,000 responses. After the third debate on June 5, CNN's poll of over 25,000 respondents showed Ron Paul won with 60% of the vote.

One would think with such a strong showing on the online polls for a "second tier" candidate that the mainstream media (MSM) would have discussed this phenomenon at length and on the front page. However, no such stories appeared. In fact, MSM pundits did their best to ignore these figures and instead focused mainly on who they deemed to be the top three choices; effectively, taking control of the election and deciding quite undemocratically who was a "real" candidate.

Even though the MSM is largely ignoring him, Ron Paul is taking the Internet by storm. His name leads in searched terms ahead of even Paris Hilton, his YouTube videos have been viewed over one million times and he has more Meetup groups than all other GOP candidates combined. Poll after poll conducted on the Internet shows Ron Paul winning or at least in the top three. Yet, these polls are completely discounted and Ron Paul's tremendous Internet support is sloughed off by the MSM. Occasionally, the MSM will grant some notice of the huge grassroots support online but then discount it by saying "he may be doing well online but he is only polling at 1 or 2 percent." Doesn't anyone see a disconnect between those two clauses? Who do they think is on the Internet? Pet mice running around in tubes? The Internet, for those who seem confused, is a link of people who write things and have ideas and OPINIONS. The 300-plus Meetup groups he has across the country are also attended by people. The MSM is trying to get us to believe that Ron Paul is only polling at 1% because that is what was said on a few polls and the fact that he is polling much higher on the Internet does not count. It is as if they believe that the people on the Internet are not real, their opinions do not count, and the Internet polls could not possibly be correct. The argument is absurd, insulting and designed to keep Ron Paul out of the mainstream public's eye. The MSM ignores his success because of the misguided concept that people do not want to "waste" a vote. It is never a waste to vote for what you want: indeed, nothing could be more wasteful than voting for what you do not want because you think it the lesser of two evils. Voting for evil is always a bad idea.

Not only is the MSM staying mum to keep you from seeing Ron Paul as a legitimate candidate but there have been active attempts to hide information about his successes. After the third debate CNN not only ran a poll, but also asked viewers to voice their opinions about the debates. Comments started pouring in supporting Ron Paul, along with all the votes. The next day CNN removed the comments from their webpage. Clever supporters found these lost comments through Google's cache (a technology that takes a virtual picture of a webpage on a certain date, so you can see if it has changed).

When silence does not work, biased pundits accuse Ron Paul supporters of "spamming" the votes (that is voting over and over for their candidate) and claim that this huge show of support is really being done by a few campaigners. This claim is specious for several reasons. First, if it was so easy to spam the polls, all the candidates would do it and online polling numbers would look more like an American Idol session with tens of millions of votes cast. Second, anyone, who understands that the Internet is not a series of tubes, knows that it is easy for a web designer to develop a poll that prohibits more than one vote per person. In fact, most of the online polls do restrict you to voting only once and if you attempt to vote again, even weeks later, you get a polite message that your vote will not count. Finally, along with the polls themselves, people leave comments, thousands of individual comments.

So let's look at these polls and their methodologies.

Many online polls have tens of thousands of responses, especially the ones done by the MSM immediately after the debates, while old-fashioned telephone pollsters only get responses from hundreds. Yet, only the old telephone polls are reported on by the MSM. We are asked to accept that a poll with 600 persons responding is more accurate than a poll with 70,000 respondents. For example, a much-cited Zogby poll admits that they only targeted 500 interviews and drew their samples randomly from telephone CD's of a national listed sample. (In that poll Ron Paul has a 3% lead). A recent Washington Post article cited its own telephone poll that only reached 1205 adults, and that was used to say Ron Paul is only receiving 1% support.

Instead of citing polls that have 70 to 100 times more respondents, the MSM still sticks to old-fashioned telephone-polling methods. The world has changed. We no longer need to depend on poor polls that only call a few hundred people, nor should we be relying on them to tell the whole story. Some say random telephone sampling is more effective just because of its randomness and therefore there is no self-selection bias as in the online polls in which one chooses to partake. However, elections are also based on self-selection and are only won and lost by those who choose to go to the polls: so shouldn't the self-selected polling methods be more accurate? The good news is that of those who have heard Ron Paul speak (if only for the 5 minutes or so he gets in the debates) he is leading by a landslide; unfortunately, not enough people are getting to hear about him.

This race would look much different if the leading headlines the days following the GOP debates were (in order of the debates): 1. Ron Paul takes GOP by surprise and WINS the debate. 2. Ron Paul once again a leading contender in second debate, comes in second. 3. Ron Paul wins third debate hands down: other candidates struggling to keep up. If the people were told Ron Paul won the debates, more would learn about him and his support would grow exponentially.

In all fairness, the polls that show that Ron Paul is ahead with 98% of the vote are just as inaccurate as the polls that show he is only polling at 1% and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. But the largest online polls, the ones taken after the debates, have him receiving somewhere between 45% and 60% of the votes. So, why the big disparity in polling numbers? Some have suggested that Ron Paul has a lot of young supporters who do not own landlines and thus are not being polled. Other explanations come to mind as well: 1. Typical polls will only call a certain type of voter e.g. people who voted Republican in the last election and this will leave out a lot of Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul's message of liberty and freedom reaches across the aisle and a lot of previously registered Democrats are switching parties to vote for him in this election. For the same reason, many Libertarians and Independents are also going to be voting as Republicans this election. Much of his support also comes from young people who are voting in their first Presidential election and thus would have no previous voting record. 2. Ron Paul's message of freedom and liberty is so exciting that people who have decided not to vote in past elections have decided that finally they have someone for whom to vote. 3. Some polls are so biased they do not even list Ron Paul as a choice (coincidentally, in a few of those "other" is leading the pack): Hard to win a poll when your name is not on the list. 4. Ron Paul fights for the individual, not the government, and his message appeals to those who like to be left alone. During this election many individuals have caller ID and often choose to avoid telemarketers and callers they do not know. 5. Some of these polls begin with intrusive questions about a person's gender, religious affiliation, annual income, and other information some see as none of anyone's business. If you refuse to answer the initial questions they will not continue with the questions. The type of person that likes Ron Paul, also tends to like privacy. 6. Sadly, not enough people are getting to hear about his policies.

Once they hear him, Ron Paul's supporters are very passionate about his message. A search of Internet "blogs" shows people writing zealously about him. Nothing could be more thrilling than to see an 18-year-old excited about the election process, shouting out support for Ron Paul, begging to hear more information about the Federal Reserve and its implications for the country. Through his campaign, Ron Paul is teaching many the benefits of limited government. There should be no surprise that his message is so well received; it is the one taught to us by Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and other founding fathers. It is the message of liberty, freedom, with the basis of a republic, not a democracy. We have been lied to so often, and our Constitution ripped apart at the seams, that when a person comes along speaking basic truths and principles, it awakens a part of us buried for so long.

When ignoring Ron Paul does not work, and removing messages about him receives backlash, the next stage is to call his supporters rabid, nuts, crazy, unstable. If you cannot attack the man, attack his supporters. Yet who can blame people who get upset when a life-saving message comes along and the MSM tries to keep it from the public. Ron Paul's message is life-saving. He wants to end the war, he wants to help ease poverty by eliminating the Federal Reserve and its ability to steal through monetary inflation. He wants to end the Income Tax and give those who need it most their entire salaries. The anger you hear is frustration by his supporters at being marginalized, just as they are by so many government actions these days, and fury when all this support is discounted. Of course people are getting upset. They do not like being manipulated and they especially do not like it when a Presidential campaign is being hijacked.

The worst part about the MSM treatment of Ron Paul, is that finally the people have a candidate they really love, and a man who would get this country back on the proper course. They have a man who will follow the Constitutional course that served this country so well for so long. Instead of rejoicing and helping the country and the people find their way, corporate media giants are trying to silence his message by ignoring him completely or reporting on only the most obscure, misleading and slanderous articles (could this be because Ron Paul is also against corporate welfare?). Most recently, even the Associated Press got into the "let's lead with misleading statements" game. In reporting on how Dr. Paul decided to hold his own rally after being the only candidate in the debates to not be invited to a Presidential Forum in Iowa, the AP's first line in the article was that Ron Paul has added "party crashing" to his debate tactics. As any ten-year-old knows, to crash a party you have to attend the party. Ron Paul had not announced he would attend the Presidential forum. Instead, he decided to hold a completely separate event immediately following the forum in the same venue. That is not party crashing, that is called campaigning. The article went on to tell the truth about the situation, but that catch phrase was repeated as a headline across the country impugning Dr. Paul's character. See for example this ABC News headline: Republican Ron Paul to Crash Iowa Forum.

Just as Ron Paul spoke of blowback in the context of military interference in foreign affairs, unless the mainstream media ends the Ron Paul blackout and misinformation drive, they will lose the next generation who is seeing it as a biased, manipulating, election-fixing force not to be trusted.

When Ron Paul gets heard or seen, he is liked. As soon as people who do not own computers are able to see him or read his message his numbers in the national polls will rise just as they have done on the Internet. In general, the American people are saying they want liberty and freedom: Now, if only the MSM would listen.

Thanks for supporting Ron Paul

Go Ron Paul!
Reply:Ron Paul is a candidate that both liberals and conservatives can vote for without feeling like they sold out. He is THE populist candidate (and my choice). That being said, the filthy, corrupt political system in the u.S. will never let him win. He is the only, REAL candidate whom wants to change the system and that's exactly what they don't want, a changed system. Still, spread the word RON PAUL 2008!!!!
Reply:That's sooooo long!
Reply:I will vote for him even though I dont think he will win. I think that the party machines are in action and we voters have no power in this so called democracy
Reply:He has my vote!! And don't be decieved. More people know about him than the media wants you to believe. Obviously when he speaks about civil liberties and giving the power back to the people he strikes a nerve with bureacrats and the those in power.
Reply:I'm not sure if I'm a supporter yet, but I'm liking him more and more.

I think I'm down to Ron or Mitt Romney. Everyone other candidate talks about making government bigger.

We need to get out of the Dems vs. Reps mindset and vote for the candidate instead of the party. The two party system has divided Americans for far too long.

Ron Paul - the true American Patriot.

Go Dr. Paul!
Reply:What changes do you think Romney will make if he gets elected?

10. Replace office of vice president with offices of First Counselor and Second Counselor

9. Reduce current size of Cabinet from fifteen to twelve to match the number of oxen supporting Mormon temple baptism fonts.

8. Call the Three Nephites to assume the Office of Homeland Security.

7. Disconnect the "Red Phone" from the link to Moscow to a link to Salt Lake City's Church Administration Building.

6. Order all military personnel to wear Mormon temple garments for protection from bullets, fire, knife wounds, weapons of mass destruction and sexually transmitted disease.

5. Suggest to Gordon Hinckley that he call Hillary Clinton as first non-Mormon General Relief Society President in order to get more Democrat votes for his second term.

4. Call Boyd K Packer to head up the Federal Bureau of Investigation into any and everything of a personal nature to young men.

3. Rename the Department of the Interior to the Department of the Inferior and call his wife Ann as the director.

2. Begin each cabinet meeting with gang-like handshakes, tokens, signs and penalties and conclude the meeting with the "True Circle Jerk Order of Prayer."

1. Make Re-formed Egytian the official language of The United Nations.

The Mormons believe we all lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father, several Heavenly Mothers, and 20 Billion Heavenly Siblings before we were born here on Earth. Then there was a war. The good guys won and were born White. The bad guys lost and became demons. Those who were neutral or did not fight bravely were born with non-white skin. The bravest of the brave were born to Mormon families.

We all know that Romney must have been a "Valliant Warrior" in the "War in Heaven" during the "Pre-Existence". How else could he have been born "White and Delightsome" to an LDS family here on Earth? Heck, he was probably one of the Commanding Generals . Now , America needs a President with valuable military experience like that to get us through our war in Iraq. Could you please ask "The One and Only True Prophet", Gordon Hinkley, to please release those valuable records to the public? We need to know what battles he fought in. How many medals he won. How many of the "Less Valliant Soldiers" he recommended being born with black skin when they got their chance to be born on Earth. Was Al Sharpton one of THEM ? How about Jesse Jackson? Mormons, this is your chance to show the world the light of the everlasting gospel. Dont miss out. We have General Romney running for president of the USA and we need you badly right now!

Reply:Ron Paul seems to be the easiest candidate to get people to support, as long as they haven't heard of him yet (in everyday social life, not on the net). The sad thing is, very few have heard of him, and I don't talk to that many people. The good thing is, he's got lots of passionate supporters!

His supporters and campaign work differently than top down campaign's of rivals. With the grassroots support, it's more like p2p technology, instead of a few single source points for the information, you have thousands of nodes with the same "file". Younger people laugh when you say you watch the news, they get their info from their friends, and the net.

On top of that, his message is incontrovertible, and his stances/record have always been solid as well. It's very hard to throw anything at him that sticks, always a good thing. The best that detractors can come up with, is his supporters are spammers. This, while online, you can always find out who they support and find the true reason why they say this. He hurts their candidates chances.

Good luck to Dr. Ron Paul!
Reply:The ruling elite fears Ron Paul. They know that if he is elected their days of raping and pillaging are over.

If something is within the power of the presidency, Ron Paul will fix it. It it's not within the power of the Presidency, he will pressure Congress to fix it. He is a man who has devoted his public life to upholding the constitution and yes, he knows full well that the constitution is not a "living document". It should not be changed. He supports America and Americans. Please folks get the word out about Ron Paul and then support him and vote for him. The way many people see it, this is our one chance to bring our country back to what Thomas Jefferson envisioned. Don't throw it away by voting for one of the two parties talking heads. Ron Paul is for real and can be our president if only the masses will wake up, stop thinking that the corporate media outlets CNN and MSN or the Associated Press have Americans best interest at heart.

Ron Paul needs your financial support and your vote. My grandchildren need for you to vote for Ron Paul.
Reply:Keep up the good work Ron Paul you're on the mark.
Reply:Ron Paul is the hope for America. America and Americans are being sold out. You work close to 40% of your life goes to paying for things the government want you do pay for. You should be enjoying your only life instead of working it away to pay for things you don't have any say so on.

People always seem to think biracial people are better than single raced people, why?
if you are latin you are probaly mixed yourself.i prefer Asian men %26amp; Eurasian men
Reply:Funny I've never gotten that and I'm mixed, if anything most ppl I've met are rude about it or act like they feel sorry for me.
Reply:I personally think that biracial people are interesting because it is nice to see what happens when two races get together and produce offspring. It is just different and interesting to sort out that person's heritage.
Reply:Well it's because these people are obviously half white.
Reply:I could give a care about mixed ethnicity folks, theyre just like everybody else, most several generation US people have more than one ethnicity in them anyway it's not a big deal.
Reply:Be realistic.

Nobody thinks that mixed race people are intrinsically "better" somehow.
Reply:Well I am Thai, Austrian, English mix and I will admit that I am pretty damn sexy, but no I am not better then anyone else. Actually I am just a regular guy who likes baseball a lot.
Reply:I think that people just view byracial kids as interesting and more unique than the average one race person. They may find their features or life different, interesting and intringing to learn about or experience.

It is rare for some people to see a person who possesses a culture and life of two worlds. anything rare and interesting will gain attention. It is a nice production of what can happen when two worlds come together delicately.
Reply:A lot of people are crazy over biracial people. Even they sometimes they could actually believe they have "the best of both worlds" when often times they are not accepted in either. Some biracials are ok but others when I meet them the first thing they say is "hi I'm Brian and I'm in half black, chinese, white, ect" like I really care about that.

White People Only?

In an interview on NBC's Meet the Press, Louis Farrakhan said the following in response to host Tim Russert's question on the Nation of Islam's teachings on race:

"You know, it’s not unreal to believe that white people—who genetically cannot produce yellow, brown or black—had a Black origin. The scholars and scientists of this world agree that the origin of man and humankind started in Africa and that the first parent of the world was black. The Qur'an says that God created Adam out of black mud and fashioned him into shape. So if white people came from the original people, the Black people, what is the process by which you came to life? That is not a silly question. That is a scientific question with a scientific answer. It doesn't suggest that we are superior or that you are inferior. It suggests, however, that your birth or your origin is from the black people of this earth: superiority and inferiority is determined by our righteousness and not by our color." [1]

Pressed by Russert on whether he agreed with Elijah Muhammad's preaching that whites are blue-eyed devils, Farrakhan responded:

"Well, you have not been saints in the way you have acted toward the darker peoples of the world and toward even your own people. But, in truth, Mr. Russert, any human being who gives themself over to the doing of evil could be considered a devil. In the Bible, in the Book of Revelation, it talks about the fall of Babylon. It says Babylon is fallen because she has become the habitation of devils. We believe that that ancient Babylon is a symbol of a modern Babylon, which is America."

While Malcolm X was a member of the Nation of Islam he also preached that black people were genetically superior to white people.

"Thoughtful white people know they are inferior to Black people. Even Eastland knows it. Anyone who has studied the genetic phase of biology knows that white is considered recessive and black is considered dominant."

White People Only?
This man says something ignorant everytime he opens his mouth. Why give him so much attention with all that you said about him? Just leave him alone and hope he just goes away.

He is a racist who would deny basic human rights to Jewish people, women and homosexuals and believes American blacks should have their own independent nation.

So why should it surprise anyone about what he says next?
Reply:Louis Farrakhan is a dumb racist @sshole, everyone knows that.
Reply:That happens to someone who doesn't believe in evolution. Of course, I can't see how he deduced that, if man came out of Africa, he must be black. But then again, who am I to question belief?
Reply:racist garbage

#1. LF states that whites cannot produce blacks, etc. If 'whites' descend from 'blacks' this would not be true so to posit a pseudo- scientific viewpoint is simply bunk.

#2. Ludicrous sweeping generalizations. Too many logical errors. Superiority is from righteousness not color. Maybe. On an individual basis. But to make sweeping generalizations, calm down Louie. So his assumptions are that all black people are righteous and all whites are unrighteous? stupid.

Then to randomly and bizzarely call America Babylon. More stupidity. Thoughtful white people know they are inferior..........huh?

If a white person in these times made such an ignorant adn false claim abotu any minority, they would be banned from speaking publicly on TV. Look at Imus, Jimmy the Greek, and that guy who the Rhode Island law school took his name off the college. But Farakan talks worse mess than them unchecked?

Actually there is only 1 race, the human race. I am an Irish American who has stuck out his neck more than once defending blacks and other minorities even at the threat of death from white racists and I tell you 'white guilt' is a bunch of nonsense. I have no guilt. THere is only personal guilt. Collective guilt only affects you if you go along with the collective.

Seems that whatever is spoken these days is unprincipled. If any white person spoke publicly as Farakan did, he and other mouthpieces who make their living off racial hatred and division would be the first to say it is wrong. But when reversed, the principle is discarded. Petty racial politics/ Im sorry I read this. In the future, please leave such nonsense pap where it belongs, in the trash bin or in one hater's troubled mind.
Reply:I think that Louis is showing people that he is a religious charlatan who is not afraid to twist the Scriptures found in the Bible and to read into the writings of the Qur'an in order to build for himself a divisive religious regime that uses racism as a draw to make people who suffer from low self-esteem feel better about themselves by joining his group and believing his lies.

The religion of Islam was not started by black people and the idea that "black mud" is responsible for skin color is a sad joke.

Louis is using an old strategy with a new twist. Evil slave traders used to justify their practice by twisting the Scriptures and claiming that black people were the "sons of Ham" and that it was God's will for them to be slaves because of the curse Noah had put on Ham's son Canaan.

Genesis 9:22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside. 23 Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned backward, and they did not see their father's nakedness. 24 When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said, "Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers."

Despite the fact that Canaan's descendents lived in the area of Judeah and it was Ham's other sons who moved to Africa, evil people throughout the ages have used the Bible to justify their sins by perverting the truths found in the Bible.

Genesis 10:6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

Reply:I'm a white man who has great respect for Louis Farrakhan.

What he is basically saying is that there is reason for other races to have distrust of whites---and I agree. The record of Europeans, and those of European descent, towards these races is not good. There is no disguising this fact. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in another race's shoes, but I imagine it would merit the distrust towards whites. He is speaking from his experience and for the experience of others.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with that and am not offended by it.

Racism is racism.
Reply:sounds like a logical argument. I have no problem with having black ancestors - after all, very few of us have traced our family trees back more than a few generations so who knows what we're an amalgam of?
Reply:The white people did NOT originate from the people in Africa, but the human race originated from a combination of blacks and whites. No person is superior based on their color or anything else. WE ARE ALL EQUAL. The Sealed Portion explains why there are both black and white people and a mixture of yellow, brown, and everything in between.

God is not a respecter of persons, and loves all human beings equally--black, white, brown, yellow, or WHATEVER.

Also, the city of Babylon, situated next to the Euphrates River, has been used by prophets to describe the great worldliness and wickedness of humankind. This city is always used by John (in Revelation) as a figurative expression of materialism, excess, and the things of the earth that satisfy our human lusts. All of the desires of our hearts lead us away from treating others as our equal, and doing unto them what we would want them to do to us.

The important thing is treating others equally no matter WHAT the skin color.
Reply:I think it's more ignorant racism at work.

I wonder how long ago that was written??? In all my years of traveling there I have never experienced anything like this. I'll touch upon a few things. Yes, the electricity does come and go throughout the day (rolling brownouts if you will). Most homes have generators that will keep your basics working. The water condition is the same as if you were to go to any country...DONT DRINK TAP WATER. This is what they tell you when you go to ANY country in the Caribbean or South America. Same goes for ice. Unless you're freezing it yourself from bottled water, don't chew it or put it into your drinks (and again, this isn't everywhere, but one must be cautious). You get used to the brown outs. I've been there about 7 times at different ages and didn't notice it. I was too busy playing, talking, catching up with relatives, drinking and all around having FUN to notice that I can't watch TV.

As for the education, we can take a few tips from them. Education, as in most places, means everything to them. While they may not have all the tools and resources that we have, its not like 20 kids are sharing one book that was printed in the 1920s. They are also very serious about their educations. There's no such thing as a parent going to the school and demanding that their child be passed on to the next grade so that the other children won't make fun of them etc. (as many here in the US tend to do). No, you fail a class, you fail and you will repeat the grade, no if ands or buts. All schools require uniforms and schedules vary. You can either go to school in the morning or afternoon. There is a siesta period between approximately 11:30 and 2 (when the suns the hottest) and most go to school year round.

Medicine: I've lived in the US my whole life...23 years...and I would rather see a medical doctor in the Dominican Republic than here. The hospitals are large with comfortable accomodations. And guess what, contrary to popular belief, they went to med school too! (sarcasm..many people wonder if they are properly trained etc, yes they are, and by VERY good school WORLDWIDE...I have a doctor in DR thats been to school in Spain and Yale). Many people I know will go to DR for cosmetic surgery because its cheaper (as with all surgery's the same risk is involved ANY doctor/ hospital you go to). My aunt recently went to the emergency room here in Jersey after she managed to slice off part of her finger at work. She arrived at the emergency room at 11AM. It took till almost 4PM for a doctor to see her. 5 HOURS waiting for EMERGENCY CARE. That situation is unheard of in DR. And the care is cheaper. I have health insurance through my job, and still don't pay as much if I were to go to DR where I'm not a citizen or even resident of the country.

Yes you will see some soldiers/ armed guards/ police officers walking around with rifles out, but its usually near a police station, jail, or military station. As for the prejudice, I've never experienced nor do I know anyone who has. I recently went on vacation with a group of friends who happened to be African-American and they were treated well but my family and others. There are places that seem like its a 3rd world country and there are places that are modern and just the same as the US.

I have never had a horrible experience there and I've traveled there by myself, have gone out while there by myself (in the city and 'slums') and have only great experiences there. If you need anything else more specific to the city you're going to be in, feel free to email me.
Reply:I'm sure it is not. We're going in less than a month. If it was this bad - now, then we obviously wouldn't be spending our hard-earned money there.
Reply:I could assure you that the situation is not as described in the narration of your question; and, it never has been. I am not saying that there was no hardship in the early nineties, there was a very serious electricity problem that have greatly improved through the years. Right now there are still blackouts, but they don't happen every day, and when they do they don't last more than a couple of hours (at home we had not had a blackout for the past week, and today we had a two hour one). It is still recommended to use bottled water; hotels and restaurants have purified water, so the ice is good to use.

The Dominican Republic still has a lot of things that need to improve (we need constant electricity; we still do not have a permanent water supply throughout the country, but a majority has a regular supply of water; medical facilities or care is not as good as it in in rich countries; the salaries are very low; transportation systems are not as efficient as we would like; etc.), as it still is a third world country. But, it nevertheless has a lot to offer its visitors (it has beautiful beaches, it has a very rich cultural heritage, the first university in the Americas was established here, the first cathedral of the New World was built here, it has got a very good nightlife, there a quite a few museums to visit, and a lot more).
Reply:in the 90's it might have been worse then what it is now. it a 3rd world country, and it ant the cleanest place, but what this person said 99% was untrue granted i went there twice in a year(sry dont live or did live there) but i also went to santo domingo so i seen how these ppl live. they dont have the medical stuff like what we do so the kids and adults with problems dont get the help they need at least that poor girl didnt have to go to the bathroom on her self!

the DR is beatuful, amazining, and breath taking!!!! go there and u dont need shots the only one u would need is a tentness shot just in case u cut ur self on somthing out side the hotle but all those other one u dont need!!! that person was right about the water but was over reacting about when he got sick(he must have drank a lot of tap water). my parents made a pot of coffee and drank it all using tap water, they didnt fell good for a little bit they just sat around for a couple hours but they could move!!! then they felt fine. dont drink tap water, *bottled water, ice cubs, and water from restronts are fine to drink!!*

if u go to santo domingo you will see kids sleeping on benches and stuff. and they live right on top of each other and the goverment dose turn the electry one for a cuple of hours.

the cop deal they do that i seen it. i belive that is what we should do here in the us, everyone down there is behaved. very little ppl act up b,c of what they go threw, the guns are out in plane view sight and they ant little guns!!

the ppl are very very nice to others. i love the ppl down there. from the city to in the middle of noware there the best!!!!

i wish we could take some ppl here in the us and put them there and make them live like they do to make ppl relise what they have in life that these ppl whish they had!! but there loving caring kind ppl down there, but they make the most out of life no matter what they got.

the kids school some of them do have to walk miles to get to school. i never seen and in side of one b,c when could have gone in there was no school b,c of easter! so i dont know what that is like

just b,c one person said it was very bad dont mean it is. i love it there i want a home down i love it and miss it, i wish i was going bk down with my parent here in a couple of weeks,

but i got some pic if u would like to see some just drop me line!!!!
Reply:Hmmm...First of all I just wanted to say I was born and raised in Santo Domingo. I went to high school there and went back a few years ago and worked for 2 years in different companies.

Yes, there is poverty. Yes, there are problems with the goverment. Yes. there are problems with electricity. BUT aren't these "common" problems in third world countries???

Yes, its a beautiful country. Yes, the people are the best! Yes, you can have a "normal" life as long as you have a good job. And yes you can have a pretty good life if you earn at least $3,000/$3500 per month, for a family of 3. You can send you children to very good private schools, live in a pretty nice house..etc.etc.

One of the major expenses here is gasoline and of course food.

I would recommend to own a house instead of renting.

Another thing, you can get extremely good interest rates out of your investments in the banks in DR.

Oh yeah, and the traffic is horrible! ;-) lol...but if you can drive in manhattan then you are in pretty good shape!!

one more thing..THE WEATHER IS AWESOME!!!!!

The only reason i'm not there is because I could not accept earning so little money, even with a "u.s." college degree from a very recognized school here.

Just make sure you have a secure and nice place to live, BEFORE you decide to move there. And that you have a contract with your employer.

BUT I LOOOOVE EVERYTHING about this place. People are beautiful inside out and they are very God concious.

That's my 2 cents.
Reply:Things have changed there recently. If it wasn't for drugs plaguing the country, it would be paradise. If the current president doesn't take all the money before his term is up, and the next one continues what he started, it will have less poverty than ever before. Remember, there is poverty everywhere in the world. It is hard to control. When I was a little girl, the poor had no clothes or shoes to wear, now it's rare to see one naked. Maybe up in the mountains. Just don't help out the drug dealers by being an user when you go there so that we can all enjoy a real paradise!

Do you think if people know each other more, things would get so much better? If so, read this and know us.?

I think reading this in 5-7 minutes would be better than listening to the news in a lifteime.Plz don't think I'm a very old person.Just 18.A university student studying English who just cannot sit back and hope.

My question is: what percentage of what I say is acceptable to you?

This article has three parts: 1.Cultural and general info 2.music and 3.political, so plz read it from the top to the bottom.

Hi.I'm Iranian and I live in Iran. When I chat with people from other countries, I understand that they have totally wrong ideas about Iran.I just wrote this article to correct you.

The first thing they accuse our government of, is that they don't let you be free.Actually, Iranians would be some of the most liberal people in the world (liberal meaning not obeying laws that they don't like).Thousands of millions of strict rules in other countries, don't even exist in Iran. Also, you should understand that what may seem so normal to you, may be a nightmare for us and vise versa. That's why you don't understand a few of Iran's laws.In Iran every single house has a sattelite. Sattelite channels had a serious influence on people, they wear very fashionable clothes.Maybe it's a kind of immitation, but still it's got an unique Iranian style. You'll see lots of beauty qeens on the streets that are just like models advertising fashionable clothes! Most part of their hair is out and they put on to much make up, also wearing scarves is a part of our culture.Iran is one of the super-consumers of cosmics (which is bad for our economy)! People do whatever they wish to and some of the things they do, don't fit our culture at all, however it's normal in Iran. You'll be surprised seeing the difference between what you imagined before and how the real Iran is! It's wonderful.Everything's so great if you don't take unemployment and air pollution into account. Many things have changed so far.I can't even compare Iran with 5 years ago, let alone comparing it with 30 years ago!!!! After all, nearly 65-70% of Iran's population is considered the new generation (The youth) and they've transformed everything.

Some people think women don't have any rights in Iran! Women are overtaking Iran. They're treated very well. They're the winners in most cases: They get into the best universities cos they're so clever. They get the best jobs cos they can do jobs much better than men. They've got rights that have made it difficult for men to marry them, because husbands buy them expensive things and treat them very well, otherwise women will have the right to ask them a great amount of money which most husbands cannot afford, so they'll be imprisoned. The only thing that women are not allowed to do in Iran is getting into public football stadiums and that's just because IN IRAN, such places are usually full of cheeky guys who would cheek girls.I don't think girls would go there, even if they're allowed to do so.

Another funny thing: Your footage about stoning the women who have committed adultery.Have you ever asked yourself they relate to how many years ago?Just for your information, those are from Afghanistan which was once ruled by those freaks (Taliban).I find it difficult to make you understand that Iran, Iraq and Afghanistan are SEPERATE COUNTRIES! and that we're Persian and some Turkish not Arab! And I find it even more difficult to make you understand that Iran is a normal country like any other countries in the world. There's nothing mysterious about it!(The media is very good at making scary titles: BEHIND THE CLOSED DOORS!!! IRAN UNDERCOVER!!! This would be enough to scare people away! Iranians are much more educated, intelligent and open-minded than what you think!!! I'm sure you don't know that there are lots and lots of Iranian geniouses and scientists that are all under 25.You don't hear about their discoveries and inventions on TV. A small example is this 17 year old boy who's invented 72 amazing inventions. You don't know that Iranian students and sportsmen are winning gold and silver medals in different compotitions in the world all the time such as robotics, biology, maths, physics, sports, anything! Why don't the media talk about them?Did you know that the countries having the highest number of scientists in the world are in this order? 1-India 2-Korea 3-Iran

A few weeks ago Iran uncovered the most effective anti-H.I.V medicine and now it's signing treaties with other countries to export it.I digged the news on the internet, but there was no single sign of that. What I found instead? "President Bush CLAIMS that bomb parts are imported from Iran into Iraq!" The media are injustice. They'd put CLAIMS on the headlines, but they would never talk about facts! Some interesting facts:

Iran is the pionier in medicine and genetics and Iranian surgens have found lots of new methods for treating spinal defects and many other diseases (mainly the treatment for different types of cancer) and the the best brain and heart surgens are Iranian surgens. The head of Mars Mission in NASA is Iranian. One of the best designer of sports cars working in Germany is Iranian. Some of the best 3D animators are Iranian.Iran is one of the best countries in counter-engineering.Holds the second place in building dams. The 4th highest tower (Milad tower) in the world is in Tehran (which you can visit in the second link). The champion weight-lifter is Iranian. The woman, and a song by one of the pop singers who/which won the nobel peace prize are Iranians. And as you all know, Iranian girls are famous for being terrific.Persian rug and Persian literature, many Persian poets and scientists that are so famous.Persian culture is now westernised and only a little has survived! According to statistics Tehran is the cheapest capital city in the world for foriegners with Dollars of course not for us! (Cos our rate is different: one Dollar=about 950 Tomans!) Who do you think is building Dubi?Arabs? No my friends, Iranian architectures, engineers and traders funding them, cos they don't think building the same things in Iran would be beneficial for them, Since the media scare tourists away from Iran. There are many other things. And also, Iran is a very independant country. It has nearly all the developed industries and technologies and doesn't need other countries to survive! That's why the unfair U.N sanctions don't bother us! The list is endless.

Some charactristics of Iranians would be: Proud, greedy, hard-working, intelligent, ambitious, not realistic, not so religious, not so generous, not punctual, impatient, well-dressed, formal, well-educated, warm and friendly and hospitable.

Some people think, Iran's a desert! Iran's a modern country with very beautiful nature and lots of historical places to visit. Please take a look at the following links and see if Iran looks like what you think or not! (Surely it doesn't!)

Some people think music is forbidden in Iran.Did you know that Iranian pop music has won the prize in France in 2005? All Iranian songs are current pop /Trance/ DJ music.I send them to my American and Canadian chat friends and they all admit that it's the best music they've ever heard. They specially love the beat.

It's now 2007 and people still think we are uneducated people living in deserts, riding camels and carrying around guns!!!!

See how the media are fooling people? None of the things you hear on the media about Iran are true.If you think I've been admiring Iran too much, that's because you'd do the same thing if you were looked down nearly everyday for some false reasons.

I think it's better to clarify some political issues as well:

Some of the Americans I chatted with, said in the U.S it's said that president Ahmadinejad hates the U.S and Israel and wants to nuke them!! The media are good at putting comments. It's easy to show a video or an image of our president or leader on the T.V screen or on the internet and say he says this, he says that.....I really don't get the point why our politicians defame themselves by talking about things that have got nothing to do with us.For example does verbal defence of Palestinians cause them to have a better life? The thing is that they occasionally make some statements that the media would misuse it agaisnt Iran. like picking up some specific sensitive phrases from among a long speech (without reffering to the main points and reasons for that speech) and putting so many bad comments on that.No sane person would take it serious.

First of all, Iranians don't hate anyone. If our government complains about some injustice going on in the world, it's not bad.Is it? We hate neither Jews nor Americans. They're both nice people. If their media are fooling them, it's not their fault. If I were in their shoes, I would hate Iran too regarding all the terrible lies they keep hearing about it nearly everyday.Although ordinary Iranians don't care about world affairs, I've got to say that for us Israel is not equal to Jews! Israel is a govt.Jews are faithful people! A few of them live here in our neighbourhood and they live just like the rest of Iranians. No difference. And two of Iran's parliment members are Jews. Who says we want to force the others to convert to Islam?Have you ever found a Muslem knocking at your door asking you to do so?That's so funny. Christians and Jews are both God believers and respectful to us.I wonder why the media like putting words in our mouth and raising hatred. In Iran, religion would be the least important thing. It means that where you come from and what your religion is, are not important to us at all.And I wonder why some Muslem countries think there's a problem between Shiites and Sunnies. It doesn't make sense in Iran.

I wonder Iran is a threat to whom? Which logical rule admits that it's logical to say a country is guilty because we THINK / PREDICT that she's going to do something wrong?!!!! Has Iran ever attacked any countries? There's no proof on that. That's even what nuclear agency says.Only Iran's oppositions are pulling Iran's leg. What we're doing is legal. What they ask us to do (ignoring our international rights) is illegal and nonsense.Iran is a peaceful country. Why? It's the regional super-power and if she wanted, she could invade the countries in our neibourhood just as what Seddam did to our country, but as you see Iran has peaceful relationships with all of them.It could be a good example to some countries that just follow their interests. What is interesting is that the countries which accuse Iran of different things have been, and are still accused of the same things!!! This could be a modern and innovative form of philosophy and logic!

Some say he said: Israel should be wiped off the map! But have they told you the rest of his speech and that why he's said this at all? If you know a little literature, you know that it's a passive sentence. He's never said that IRAN wants to wipe Israel off the map! And he wasn't talking about destroying Israel. He was talking about relocating Israel, so that they could live seperate from Palestinians and they both could live in peace. They've only told you this phrase not the rest of it and it's mistranslated deliberitely.Iran's always defended itself, but it's not an offensive country. While some countries which have nukes are clearly threatening Iran to nuke her! Good, isn't it?

Some say he's said: Holocaust is a myth! again this is a single phrase from among a long speech and there are totally logical reasons for saying so.If 6000000 Jews were killed, that's so terrible, but those 300000 Shiite Moslems killed by Saddam aren't important at all! Over 650000 Iraqi people are killed and it's not important! When Fox News simply says: America and Israel are capable of destroying and killing all Iran's 69000000 population within two weeks, it's OK and no one says they're threatening other countries to nuke them (I saw this with my own eyes on the Fox News website) Millions of people killed in Afghanistan, Hiroshima %26amp; Nakazaki and vietnam war are not considered human beings at all! Now I think you'd get the point why he's IRONICALLY said it's a mith. Moreover, don't you believe in freedom of speech/mind?

Obviousely, some countries are using Iran as a victim to put the blame (their own faults) on Iran. And which country is better than Iran to be a victim? They've made the whole world believe that Iran isn't a peaceful country and represent false image of Iranians by making insulting movies like "300" .

I know Americans don't like these either, but what can they do?They can't control what the media says.I hope someday the media would end all this instead of playing a negative role in the world.

This part is just for Americans who would still argue over unimportant things: Those of you who say why Iran says "Death to America": 1.America means the U.S govt not the people 2.The new generation don't say such things and if some of them occasionally march in the streets that's because some of the stupid guys enjoy making noise and they mainly go out there to meet their girlfreids/boyfriends! Strange.Isn't it? 3.Such mottos are not just said in Iran and as you know whatever you hear is a response to the U.S govt's terrible actions which has made life for many people hell (You wouldn't deny that attacking countries is a mistake.right?) 5.The U.S govt helped Seddam to attack Iran and I hope you know which country gave Iraq biological weapons which killed lots of Iranians 6.America hit an Iranian airplane over the Persian Gulf and killed 200 passengers for no reason 7.It's always botherng Iran by sanctions, displaying false image of Iran and Iranians, scares tourists away from Iran and is always harmful to our economy, development and credit 8.It's always despised the Iranians who travel to the U.S at their arrival (even ordinary ones, university students, sportsmen, scientists etc)

To those who are upset with American hostages taken for 444 days: 1.It's related to so many years ago and don't forget that when there's a revolution, there'd be cheos and people may do things that they should not, moreover they're all alive and healthy.Aren't they? 2.The U.S has arrested Iranian diplomats in Iraq and keeps denying that they're diplomats. Now you decide who has the right to be upset with whom. It's exceeded the level of tit for tat.

It's better for both countries to forget about the past conflicts and to have peaceful relations. The two govts are like 10 year old children jumping at each other verbally, but we as the people of these countries MUST NOT have any conflics. You know something? All govts are hateful.I just said the above things because it sounds unfair when some Americans talk about 444 hostage taking and I keep being silent. So sorry for that.I hope you agree on this one! Now, what do you think?I can't wait to see both nations in peace. It'd be marvelous!

Thanks.

Do you think if people know each other more, things would get so much better? If so, read this and know us.?
This is way too much for this site, I did read it though. I think that the whole thing is the worst situation the Republicans have ever created. The World outside our boarders are a lot less safe since George Bush invaded Iraq. I have the Donald Trump interview that you should see and really listen to. Donald does travel and everything he said is true.
