Why do most people talk negatively about things that they have no knowledge about?

I have noticed this in many people, including my own family members. My grandmother and some of my uncles are extremely racist against against hispanic people but they have never talked to a hispanic person before. I am not like them, I have met hispanic people and have hispanic friends. I have noticed that some people think buddhism is stupid and they know absolutly nothing about the religion. Why do people talk about stuff they have no clue about. I have heard many people say that "Muslim" is a race. To those idiots who think that, muslim describes people who practice Islam. I have heard many people say that muslims worship a different god than christians. Muslims worship the same god as christians, Allah is arabic for God, and the entity who delivered the message of islam to muhammad was the angel Gabrel ,or however you spell it, form the christian bible. People should stop talking about stuff they don't understand.

Just so you know, i'm not buddhist or muslim. I am a Christian

Why do most people talk negatively about things that they have no knowledge about?
Only reason I can think why people speak negative about things they know nothing about, is they speak what they are taught to believe. Instead of researching the facts, and studying to know people, cultures, and religions, they find it hard to believe that others aren't just like them, and everyone should be 'just like them'. I am white, Christian, and I feared blacks, hispanics, and religions I was not fully aware of. It was taught to me that way.

I wanted to find out why I feared the unknown, and found there is nothing to fear but the wrong education.
Reply:I like your respect to other people. I hope everyone can do the same.
Reply:People want to be popular and important, to the detriment of all involved usually. We do not stand in judgment of anyone, only God is the judge.
Reply:because its easier to go by a stereotype than to research and ask questions to find out if it is true
Reply:ignorance equals bliss my friend.............as well as stupidity

Can mlm people please explain this?

Just if you hope to attract 3 people to your front line... and those people somehow get 3 people to their front line... it will look like this...

So after 21 levels, you have exeeded the population of earth. Then what do you do? This is why mlm will never work, ever. But if it can be explained to me... then I would be more open.

And please don't say... yeah but you only need like 1,000 people in your organisation and you are doing well. No, cause those people need continual expansion or the people at the bottom will quit. Then the people 2nd from the bottom will quit. Then the people 3rd from the bottom will quit, and so on. So please explain... here is your chance once and for all.

Can mlm people please explain this?
Not defending MLM, but you are partially right.

Indeed all they need is a total of 1,000 , or even 500 to do well.

People at the bottom can fail, stop, quit or whatever, but the pyramid will not collapse if the people on top do their own selling. This is true of all businesses, NEVER depend on others, whether they are on top or on bottom of you.

More importantly, people who do good in MLM need to understand, that they can do even better in traditional sales, because if you can get 3 people to get 3 people to get 3 people (and have a total of 3+ 9+ 27 = 39), there's no reason you can't get the 35+ on your own and keep all the commissions to yourself. In real world business, nobody is stupid enough to start up competitors for themselves.
Reply:first of all not all mlm compensation plans are designed this way. There are binarys, matrix, unilevels, aussie 1-ups %26amp; 2 ups, breakaway plans, etc... Marcello has only described ONE.

2nd there are actually mlm companies out there that you need less than 500 people to do QUITE well.

3rd it seems irrelevant to me that you go down 21 levels in your example. VERY few companies pay down that far, so to me Marcello's example is a bit ludicrous.

4th mlm DOES work IF you have a good product(s), a good compensation plan, strong leadership ... ie.. management, good policies and procedures.

There's a whole lot more to MLM than the perception you have, but I'm not in the convincing business nor the recruiting business, so I will just leave it at what I've already said.

Helping others create income from home through education of the system and how it REALLY works.
Reply:Tory, should I consider this flattery that you merely cut and pasted one of my answers as a question? Well, its still a good point, so good job anyway.

I wanted to address a couple things Jennifer stated which is a HUGE part of the problem.

First – all the compensation plans that have downlines require growth…so it doesn’t matter if it’s a 3x3 as stated here, or a binary, matrix, unilivel, whatever…they are have multiple levels which is the problem. This point merely detracts from the heart of the question (nice dodge).

Second – the fact that YOU can succeed with less than 500 people is EXACLTY The point addressed in this question. Sure, you can get in early and get 500 people and make some money, but the people below you will also need 500 people, and so will they, and in ANY system if you do the math its expands so fast its mathematically IMPOSSIBLE. This went RIGHT over your head because you are thinking only about the functionality from a single persons point of view, but EVEYRONE has to have a chance to succeed or it goes bust, and everyone does not because of the math.

Third – the fact that you think 21 levels deep is irrelevant merely because you don’t get paid that far is again you missing the point. You don’t need to go that deep, but surely your downline also needs to build, as does theirs, as does theirs…meaning if the whole thing goes bust before 21 levels, MASSIVE amounts of people will have ZERO chance to succeed. This is basic math, and you are overlooking it again.

Fourth – mlm works for the owners of the company, not the reps. If the product is great, and can be sold by an individual to make enough money to earn a living, than that individual will be fine. The question is clearly directed as the mathematical impossibility of expanding downlines.

You seem to have the GIANT misconception that MLM organizations can remain static…meaning they do not need to continually grow. If you think you can get 500 people into your downline and the last people in are going to stick around even though its not growing, then you are being shortsighted.

With all do respect, the fact that such a simple concept has eluded you gives concern to the fact that you suggest you are the one helping others. I really wonder what advice you are giving people that is helpful.
Reply:MLM is a ripoff unless you are one of the very first people to sign up. Then you can alienate everyone you've ever known trying to sell them overpriced crap that doesn't work any better than grocery store brands.
Reply:The following link explains MLM and how to counter negative responses.

http://www.firstclassmlm.com

MLM is either something you understand or you don't. People can say what they want about MLM. However, it gives someone who would not otherwise have the skills or money to open up a storefront business a chance for success at very inexpensive start up costs. Additionally, it allows a person to keep their regular job while learning to run a home based business, increase thier network of contacts, earn extra income and enjoy numerous tax deductions that do not come with a regular tax paying job. Of course, we wouldn't want to have anyone earning some extra money to pay off some bills and help their family.

While it is true that most people fail in MLM, the truth is, people fail at 80 percent of the things they try in life such as sports, real estate, acting, music, diets and more. People join MLM with the illusion that just because it is cheap (compared to regular business) and many other people above them are successful that they will be guaranteed success with little effort. MLM is a results based business while a regular job is performance based.
Reply:Tory,

For the sake of the math question you have here, you are assuming that this takes place in a matter of months. It takes time to build this type of downline. During that time, do you think that the population will stop growing?

I'm not going to waste my time and energy trying to convince you that MLM works because you are so closed minded on the subject that you refuse to accept any positive posts anyone has on the subject. But I do want to share some statistics with you that was published in Forbes Magazine, which this "naive, 25 year veteran of MLM" subscribes to.

Network Marketing is a $100 billion dollar industry worldwide and is one of the fastest growing trends in home based business. More than 10 million people in the US are involved in a Network Marketing business. It allows anyone, from any background or education to create a significant income in a business of one's own.

Many Network Marketing Companies are Fortune 500 companies, traded publicly on the Stock Exchanges and many are held privately. Mary Kay Cosmetics; Tupperware; Jafra Cosmetics and Avon are just a few well known and well respected companies using a network marketing / direct sales business model.

•Network Marketing has been written about favorably by major publications such as Forbes, Fortune, Success, Fast Company, USA Today and the Wall Street Journal.

I suppose that all of these professionals, including Donald Trump, who has spoken favorably about MLM in interviews are all idiots.

One of the main reasons that people fail at MLM is the same reason they fail at any job they try and that is lack of willingness to learn in their field in order to succeed further. People had rather stay opinionated and listen to the people who have tried and failed. My Daddy always told me that if I ever wanted anything in life to find someone who already had it and ask them how they got it, then follow their lead.

Why would I listen to someone who is NOT successful to achieve success? No, thanks! I will keep doing what has worked for me for over 25 years.

Bonnie Ramsey

Well, it is obvious the only reason you even posted this question is to bash something you don't even have the intellegence to understand nor the desire. When anyone tries to answer your question or explain something to you, all you want to do is launch a personal attack against them. So I will do what I know works and spend my time with people who are open to learning instead of attacking someone who has what it takes to make a good business work.
Reply:I'm very proud of you...you can multiply by 3 on a calculator! Very good.

But that's not the real world. So put your calculator down and run down to your nearest book store, grab a cup of Starbuck's and start reading "Chicken Soup for the Network Marketer's Soul".

You (Marcello) keep saying in each rant "Please explain...here is your chance once and for all". But when anyone tries to explain...Blam!! You belittle them and tear what they say into shreds.

The good news is, you have brought many people together who are like-minded and helped them to concentrate on the positive. Thank you for that.

Hope you're having a wonderful day! Earning lots of money....wink wink!
Reply:Maybe I can shed some light. What you choose to focus on is the hype and the exponential growth in the hype. NEVER has it worked hypothetically, yet there are a few who succeed. Are you suggesting that there are not some successful people in network marketing who have been bringing in a lucrative amount of money. All successful MLMer's have experienced

people dropping off. MLM is obviously not for everyone. As you know the marketing comp plan is based on recruiting. If you choose to look at how it can work, this can be used to bring an income as you build the residual side.(commission from products being sold) Not all customers of MLM products are representatives. Yes some products are overpriced, yet somehow people enjoy buying them along with the positive relationship between the distributor or rep. Troy, I would not expect you to understand how it will work. It takes an understanding from within, You have to make the choice to find out how it will work. What works for me may not work for you.

*edit*

I know this term is overused in MLM mindset, yet how is it that there are many who choose to be "close minded" and focus on how MLM does not work. The traditional way works for few as you have noted. There are many ways to be successful. You choose to point out the fact that Trump and Kiyosaki do not do MLM yet they found a way to profit from it. There are also several like you who have harsh feelings towards mlm yet profit from writtings and make lucrative money doing so.

So any smart business man or woman "could" find a profitable position in MLM. You don't have to be a Trump or a Kiyosoki to do it either.

Why are people so racist- "Why can't we all just get along"?

Why is it that pro-illegal people claim that "white people" are racist or racially profiling and yet seem to be the one's that are racist or racially profiling. I saw an answer someone gave and just had to shake my head.

“If you are hispanic you are illegal. That is how they base it. The other night I went to walmart with some kids from my apts. I took them to get ice cream at the mcdonalds. It was about 10 kids and we walked into the mcdonalds in my head i was thinking these people are staring. the kids werent loud or crazy just waiting in the line to tell the cashier what kind of ice cream they wanted and I kept getting looks. I knew right then and there that they were assuming the worst seeing me with all those kids. Made me laugh but I bet those same people were out saying oohh i saw this illegal at walmart with her 10 children. Now everytime I go everywhere and I see a white person who might be staring I say to myself they probably think I am illegal. I do want to know how people assume someone is illegal. I speak english but some of my family members dont and they are US citizens. I wonder how you decide who is illegal and who isnt.”

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

I like how she ASSUMES people are looking at her because they think she is illegal, it couldn't have just been they were amazed at how she could handle so many kids at one time, I know I would be, I can barely handle my one kid, but no because I guess there were "white people" there, she automatically ASSUMES that they think she's illegal, because she is Hispanic and all the kids are hers. You know what happens when you ASSUME ...

Stop.. all that is happening is you are spreading racism and hate, and this is what you are teaching your children.. for yet another generation of racists. Please look in the mirror before you call other people racists. This is the year 2007, it’s time to get over the past and look to the future.

Why are people so racist- "Why can't we all just get along"?
I agree with you. This racism on all fronts needs to stop.Whether you are speaking racism or feeling you are being looked down on because of who you are. Most intelligent people aren't racist. The rest don't matter.

Very good question and follow up...a star for you.
Reply:katjha20 you are so right i think racist people are so old minded, racism is the oldest and probably dumest thing ever! common like you said we are in 2007 stop hating people! Report It

Reply:People aren't allowed to stare at a bunch of kids now without being rude? The nerve!
Reply:so now you think its racist because people think you have 10 kids?( I'm shacking my head) it is not racist to assume anything. the majority of spanish people who come from the south have a bunch of kids and you know it. the majority of illegals can not speak English. and it is not racist to say that. there are White illegals as well as brown. silly rabbit.
Reply:Shall we go through this AGAIN?!

Illegal immigration has NOTHING to do with race. Mexican is not a race. The 20 to 30 million people that have crossed our borders are criminals because they have broken the law.

I don't care if the illegal is from Canada, England, Ireland, Egypt, or Peru. If they are illegal they shouldn't be here.

We can't "get over the past" with the illegals since there is no PAST. They are currently here and they are destroying our country. There is NO FINANCIAL benefit for their presence in our country. This is the finding of EVERY legitimate group.
Reply:ur soo right man.....

MAKE LOVE NOT WAR!!
Reply:What do you call La Raza who says the Americans are illegal and not the illegal Mexicans?
Reply:It is not necessarily racism but xenophobia. Also there are several economic issues tied along with immigration, some positive and some negative.

Why are people such jerks in 5th Grade?

Hi! I'm a guy in 5th grade and I've noticed that a lot of people are jerks to me and other people. In 4th Grade people were nice and respected each other. I'm a little plump and in 4th grade no one made mean jokes about other people's weight or other things like that. Now people are like, "Andrew, I'm amazed you kicked the ball in kickball," and, "You know Andrew, you sacrifice athletic abilities for brains." Why are people such jerks?!?! They make fun of each other and are mean! This one kid, Peter, liked this girl, Julia, but so did Austin. On valentines day Peter got julia some chocolate and a necklace. Austin got her chocolate. BAM! Next day Austin is at School with a necklace! They hate each other and Austin is a jerk to peter and made him cry several times! What is wrong with people?!?! Can somebody please tell me why people are like this in 5th Grade??? Thanks

Why are people such jerks in 5th Grade?
They are immature, you are mature for you age, I know I was and it was kind of hard for me to deal with this childnish. I got along okay by just ignoring it, they'll grow up some time, you guys are still young.

Why are physically attractive people given special treatment by society?

This is true not only on the dating scene, but in all arenas. Studies have actually shown that parents treat attractive children better than they treat unattractive children, teachers give better grades to attractive students than they do to unattractive students, attractive people get more job promotions than unattractive people, and attractive people are acquitted of crimes more often than unattractive people. Don't get me wrong. I can understand why attractive people would get more dates than unattractive people, since sexual attraction is very important when it comes to dating and mating. However, why do attractive people have so many advantages in so many other areas of life? After all, giving so many advantages to physically attractive people isn't always necessarily advantageous for the people giving them the advantages. Not only that, but why are people being rewarded for hitting the genetic jackpot? After all, it's not as if they worked for it or earned it. Being beautiful is

Why are physically attractive people given special treatment by society?
has to do with eye appeal, and hardwiring. Men notice large breasts, nicely shaped derieres, etc. Women notice either cute boyish features or muscles, size, etc. Sex appeal, respect. We naturally tend to love and admire beautiful things--who feels sorry for a person who is gangly and unattractive and socially outset, when you can feel sorry for the pretty young girl with the sunny smile--who dies suddenly.

Ive found that some people have an inner light that is so bright you cant help but notice and not judge, but this is rare.

I think its mostly about appeal like strength and height for men, and breasts and buns for women, and facial beauty for both sexes of course.

Concepts like reincarnation suggest that we get what we need to advance spiritually, so by this philosophy we do choose our looks!
Reply:Let me say first, you seem to have put much thought into your question. Simply put, people respond more positively to things of a pleasant nature than not. Would the typical person prefer to be surrounded by delightful blooming flowers, luscious green grass, and trees w/ branches swaying in the wind or by a baron desolate scenery? The same applies when it comes to giving esthetically pleasing individuals advantages in life (as you stated often times not deserved). How many times have you interacted w/ that individual so pleasing to the eye it makes you ache? Yet once you realized the personality or even their demeanor did not mirror the outward shell, how quickly did your opinion change? Riddle me this, which is stronger the cactus or the rose, one all prickly with thorns, the other with thorns but beautiful blooms being the first thing to draw ones eye? Which might benefit one more in the long run? The one that was pleasing to most of our senses or the one that can provide us a means to stay alive? What's more advantageous is not what first drives an individual to action. Now that I've waxed philosophical, if you care to review opinions based on scientific research, check out http://www.sciencenetlinks.com/sci_updat... or other such sites.

I used to get away with more things when I was younger and "attractive" then I do now that I am getting old.

Even attractive people have to grow spritualy or they will be miserable when they get old.

I used to have a friend that was a high-fashion Vouge quality model. She often feel in love with men who didn't care for her at all they only wanted to be seen in her company. She had very low self-estem as far as men were concerned.

Humans basically have to go through the same experiences in life, some just get a head start from their looks.
Reply:I DO AGREE WITH U BUT NOT IN ALL. THERE ARE MANY UNATTRACTIVE PEOPLE WHO R MORE LUCKY THAT OTHERS
Reply:Because it's not a set up, there is no 'father' type god ensuring fair play. You are the culmination of all your ancestors going way back each choosing the best mate they could get to make a better offspring, you. OK, maybe they weren't the sharpest tools in the box but you aren't all covered in fur and craving bananas (are you?) The marvel is that in this ruthless quest to build a better mousetrap Humanity has developed its own rules and principles of fairness and equality (and creator myths) that it willfully imposes on the world in spite of the fact that Science is correct and inevitably will have to impose Eugenics and turn away or not accept many who are not 'figuratively' already on this life boat (Earth) as it can only hold so many.
Reply:It is easier when your attractive most of the time but not all the time. I've heard some of my employers say that they like having attractive people around them because it makes them look good also. Plus attractive people attract people to them which makes things easier.

When it comes to dating they come to you , you don't have to go to them. So yes it helps a lot with dating also. The only people I run into that give you hard time about it is feminist and jealous people, but I can understand why most of the time and it doesn't bother me.

Being beautiful doesn't do it all, you still have to work. Plus you have to put up with people that puts you up on a pedestal in a sense and then looks up to you or down at you depending on how they feel about themselves. It's not always nice.

Some beautiful people are snobs and others aren't, the ones that aren't thinks everyone is beautiful and treats them as such.
Reply:Because nature has set it up that way. Beautiful features usually mean that you are probably healthy and will probably reproduce the same way. This is why it we view people as beautiful on the outside and there is nothing we can do to change our views. Also beautiful people are probably looked at as better value to company advertisement.
Reply:Because of biology....its in our nature to favour more attractive people as we have primal instincts that tell us they have better genes than less attractive people and would breed healthier children. Look it up on the net somewhere. Just harsh reality. People cannot help it.
Reply:Due to the gift of Sight...We tend to get attracted to people who are good-looking...and thus, preferential treatment....
Reply:Because regardless of what people think humans are still first and foremost animals and what we find attractive influences us more than our reason and or or rationality.

Your second question is basically asking if that's fair. Nature isn't fair, human nature isn't fair, it is what it is. Over time we can change natural habits to be more moral but that's a very slow process
Reply:it is presumed their genes are superior therefore you can breed with them to make superior babies.... in the absence of breeding rights.... it is a case of living in hope of breeding with them.....

People from each area of the United States?

Simple enough question - what are the majority of people like from each area of the United States? I live in the US, but just want other people's opinions. Let's divide it into categories: New England (New England States and sorrounding states close by), the south east (Carolinas, Virginia, Florida, etc.), the deep south (Alabama, Lousiania, Mississippi, etc.), the mid-west (Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, the Dakoktas, Montana, etc.), the south west (Arizona, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, etc.), and the pacific northeast (California, Oregon, Washington, etc.)....

I just want to find out people's opinions on how the people are in each area of the country, the general "feel" or traditions or styles of each area, what life and culture is like there, and what kinds of people would like it there. People who know all areas of the country would be best to answer these questions... thanks everyone.

People from each area of the United States?
I live in New Orleans and its pretty much all about food and music.

We're known for our festivals like Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras which is just about hanging with friends, meeting new people, eating some food, drinking some drink, listening to some music, etc.

Its a real laid back place and the people are mostly friendly.
Reply:The Pacific Northwest is beautiful and the people are laid back......lots of out door activities .camping, sailing, surfing and a great spiritual place.

Southwest is really dry in the summer but beautiful too.snow isn't a real subject here ,Foods are great ,green and red chili, peopleare culturally diverse and friendly Many indigineous peoples ,and hispanics, also a large anglo population.

Midwest flat, cold, bible belt, conservative.

southeast beautiful great universities, cultural diversity , conservative/ rural areas , christian conservative slower income areas

New England Democratic, highly educated, lots of things to do! Love the east Very expensive to live here...lots of museums, etc.people are kinda snobby.....
Reply:I am from Oklahoma. People here are pleasant and friendly. Lots of "good ol boys". Things are not to expensive here when you compare it to things on the west coast. I wish we put more importance on education though. The weather is great. Few tornadoes but nothing to much to worry about. Oklahoma is a good place ot live and raise a family.
Reply:I live in upstate NY, 500 ft. from Lake Ontario, and up here it's about surviving the snow and cold and making it to the next summer. Other than that it's great..........
Reply:I have lived all over the world and by far where I currently lives is my favorite. I am attending school in Ames, Iowa.

The people here are so nice, and friendly. It doesn't matter what you need if you ask someone they are more than willing to help. the lifestyle here is more laid back and less fast paced. I mean we don't move at the speed of snails but slower than NYC.

Many people in this area are very centered around our families. it's important to see them, spend time with them and just have a great time. I used to live in Omaha, Nebraska and I also liked that city because it isn't a huge city but not a small town either but can offer everything that a big city does.

I take great offense when people say we are all corn frowers who wear overalls. While attending school I work for a top 10 insurance agency that is headquartered in iowa.

Hope that helps

Some People Focus On America's Best Points , Others Look For Negative . . . Which Group Is Better Company ?

Sometimes, no matter how good the news is, some people are so negative that their negative attitude won't let them be happy . Not a day goes by where these people don't relish in whatever bad they can find . These are the same people who are willing to go back a hundred years or more to find anything that would damper current American pride and success.

While others truly Love our country and really enjoy spreading the good news . These are the people who truly appreciate living in the greatest country of the world .

This is also why people in the second group often call people in the first group , Unpatriotic .

I tend to agree because by it's very definition, Patriotism implies Positive , not negative .

Which Group Of People Make Better Company ?

Some People Focus On America's Best Points , Others Look For Negative . . . Which Group Is Better Company ?
The positive people are definitely the ones I want to be around. I don't care to spend any of my time being depressed by what could be. Even though there are lots of negative things going on, that isn't outweighed by living in the greatest country in the world. I still have my freedoms and am incredibly grateful for that.

Come to think of it, I think there are a lot of negative people that seem to live in a bubble and perhaps due to lack of exposure aren't aware of just how good we have it in this country.

**edit**

Oops, I deleted my last paragraph.

All that said, I don't think the negative can be ignored entirely. The best way to rid the negative is to turn it into a positive.

**one more edit**

I CANNOT stand Americans that have nothing nice to say about our govt. Sure they've screwed lots of things up but they've also done good. I can't think of one single govt out there that hasn't screwed something up or allowed something tragic to happen to someone else. Oh how I could go on and on right now, but I won't. And not everything that is wrong with our country is the govt's fault. I think Political correctness is a nasty disease that needs a cure.
Reply:I like realistic optimists. Can you tell me which group is which,in your opinion?

Swoosh 2 points!
Reply:I prefer the company of realists. :)
Reply:you take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life. I loved that show:-)

some people think we have to be optimistic all the time and others seem to think we must more pessimistic or we will get taken advantage of. I do not agree. one must be a realistic to ever truly be optimistic or to be justified when seeming to be pessimistic.

I understand that as a country we haven't always been right and have made great mistakes but the good that we have done out weighs the bad. I will be 41 in a few months and I am, and have been all of my life proud of this land that I call home the United States of America. with all her imperfections and sorted history she is still the Greatest Nation under God.
Reply:I prefer to be around optimists.

I am a pessimist myself and don't need help coming up with doomsday scenarios.
Reply:Patriotism in neither optimistic or pessimistic, by definition it is love. People who love something wish to see it grow, and that means seeing it for what it is, and allowing it to grow.

Thomas Jefferson once said that Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism.

Living in reality and looking at what is there, not what you wish was there is patriotic. Whether what is there is positive or negative, you are not a patriot if you chose to ignore what exists. To love a county - as patriotism implies - means to hold it to a high standard and to wish to see it grow. If a person simply looks for negatives at the point of vitriol, lacking a motive to improve a negative point that person is not a patriot. Likewise if a person chooses to live in a self-induced mental fog, because it would involve seeing things they don't want to see or accepting things they don't want to accept that person despises their country. Truth is beauty and beauty is truth.
Reply:Neither. They're both irritating and delusional.
Reply:As a single tear runs down my cheek......give me a break preacher....There's a difference between optimism and blowing smoke up people's a**es.....and the people in your second group call the people in the first group unpatriotic because they(unlike most beople with a brain) cannot seperate their "country" from their "government". This IS the greatest country in the world...but if you can't acknowledge that our government is responsible for some pretty silly, and awful things, and should be held accountable for it...that's not being patriotic, it's being ignorant.

Oh...to answer your rant posing as a question....the negative people make better company....they're more fun at parties.
