Since people are ALWAYS complaining about the whole popularity and racial problems with teens...?

I have decided to put a stop to it.

I am a 13 year old teenage girl.

I hate how people at my school tend to stick with others of their own race just to fit in.

I hang with all different kinds of people, and I think it's stupid how people try to form little racial cliques.

I would like everyone to notice that popular or unpopular, within your race, or not, we can all get along.

So I came up with this plan:

I am going to introduce the 'populars' to the 'average' people.

I know they can all get along. They are just afraid to.

So...

how do you think I could go about doing this? I am going to start next year in eighth grade, because it is the end of the school year. I am already getting known (I always had potential to be 'popular', but now I go out of my way. That's why people know me all of a sudden), but do you have any other ideas to how I could meet more people next year?

The more 'popular' I am, the more people I can influence to learn to be friends with different people.

Since people are ALWAYS complaining about the whole popularity and racial problems with teens...?
1)become popular

2)then intoduce some of the average people to the popular ones

3)have the 2 groups join together to make 1 (dont push it too much)

remember

not everyone gets along

let them take their time someone has prlly tried this b4

good luck and if you try hard who knows what can happen!
Reply:I like your plan, but just remember not to forget your old friends, and most important keep in mind that some of these cliques may not want you in, and may resort to...dangerous levels to keep you from changing they're opinion or state of mind.
Reply:Great idea but you have to remember that not all children are that mature but they will soon learn on their own. Its nice to know that you'll be there to give them a little push.
Reply:Well, I hope that your mission works out for you, but remember that most of these kids had parents teaching them to stick with their own race too! Careful how you tread there girl, you could stir up something that's not safe for you. Be gentle about how you go about this!
Reply:You should run for President one day. You would get my vote. It's a good idea, but it will never happen. Prejudice is taught at a young age and has been around as long a earth has. It's never going to change. We won't live to see it happen!
Reply:I just went to a student Council convention and the speaker spoke just about this issue

He said to "talk about things that matter" which is sooo true

I mean how many times do you walk in the hallways or even in class and hear people talking about the most useless pointless stuff like "OMG did you watch Gilmore Girls last night!" And this is ok because I do it too but once in a while you need to stop talking about material superficial things and start talking about things that matter!

For instance world problems and how to change things your life and people that have impacted you, world hunger, AIDS, Racism, Your Dreams, goals, inspirations; THINGS THAT MATTER

First and foremost you MUST have an opinion or you will go nowhere in this world you cant be bias and let the world pass you bye you must make a stand for what you Opinion is

As for your idea of uniting the "groups" props to ya but Just to tell you there are ALWAYS going to be popular and unpopular thats just life

That doesn't mean we cant try though and make a slight impact!

So go ahead and start this trend by talking about Real Stuff

God Bless

Reply:That is very admirable. However, I fear that you will only find disappointment in attempting to reach your goal. The fact is that people are all raised differently and essentially taught how to treat others.

On the up side, I have noticed that people are more accepting of others now-a-days as compared to when I was in school. Maybe it's because I hang with an older crowd or maybe it's because I live in a more diverse city. Either way this is a good sign.

My advice would be to simply remember that you cannot force anyone to do anything. Be aware of when you are trying to change someone who doesn't want to be changed and move on. Don't waste your time on those who wish to remain ignorant.

Good luck!
Reply:thats great, but just be yourself, and others will follow
Reply:I seriously think you shouldnt do this im 14 and in 8th grade, and i know u have a good cause but this will not work, sorry to say but if u try this u might be unpopular throughout 8th grade. im trying to save u from humiliation
Reply:its human nature, you can't change people.
Reply:if u really want to make a difference join more sport activities that helped me 2 become popular and i did make some of my avrage friends popular in the process
Reply:I don't think thats a very smart idea. Its nice how u want things to stop but its been that way since before you were born. I know you are young and trying to make a change. But get back up to do it. Don't try to do it alone. At a high school in california they are trying to bring races together teachers are doing it, not students let time go by and watch as things change.
Reply:That's a great mission. Get involved in different clubs and extracurricular activities and make more friends there and mix it up!
