Do people rather if your pretty??
Well if it's highschool, of course they're going to do that. It's something that comes along with growing up, people always judge other people by their looks because it makes Them feel better about their own insecurities. And besides...if people are only your friends because of your looks then they are not REAL FREINDS. If you have confidence going into a new school then you will get respected, you just don't want to be overly confident, this can come off as cocky. But if you have it people won't notice weakness in you and they'll be less likely to pick on you.

And there is no reason for an ugly person to be treated lesser than a pretty person. If you are doing that, they you are not a real person. Accept people for who they are on the inside, not what they look like on the outside, because looks can be decieving.

(By the way, dark brown or black hair is not Emo...it's just a haircolor. Punk and Emo are two totally different genres and styles anyhow.)
Reply:you are pretty alright....... pretty dumb
Reply:As terrible as it is, people always think good looking people are nicer, but thats not always the case. I am long out of highschool myself but I remember back to those days and all the "popular" kids were good looking. I think as you get older you start to realise that looks do fade and if you don't have a good personality to go with those good looks, when the time comes when your looks no longer are going for you, you are left as a rather dull person, so I think it's better that you work on your personality rather than your exterior.
Reply:most people prefer good looking people. but tha'ts because they are shallow and they don't know how to appreciate people for who they really are.

you'll find new friends in your new place someday. don't get frustrated. i wish you all the best
Reply:Dark hair isn't ugly, its mysterious.

Your new to people, and they only see your outside, not who u are.

Its a good experiment to see how people react to your different hair color.

If you want to lighten up your dark dyed hair, i recommend this product:

http://www.drugstore.com/qxp149757_33318...

Just use it like hair dye, put it all over. It'll turn out light brown.

It won't damage your hair.

Go for it! Watch how people react to your new lighter look.
Reply:Not only in this day and age,but back then too! It has neva' been any other way! But the good news is that there is a handful of people out there who aren't shallow and will see the inside first. Some remarks could just be made out of anger, like when I was havin' a bad day waiting at the social security office and this woman in all sorts of shades of purple, wouldn't just listen to the employee, and when she left I said now the the Califonia raisin has understood the grapevine,we can finally proceed, with the next number.
Reply:Love yourself. Be proud of who you are and show confidence. This is the best advice for such situation. I've been the new kid a lot. I was a lot happier when I gave up on impressing others and became a good friend to some awesome people who liked me for me.
Reply:As awful as it sounds, i would say yes. when i was in high school, i wasnt part of the "popular crowd" i came to school in jeans and a t-shirt/sweat-shirt with wet hair and barely any makeup. i didnt feel the need to get up 3 hours before i had to be at school just to look like miss america. well, about 3 months after i graduated high school i would go out with my friends ( which i would get somewhat dressed up for, eyeliner, mascara, and dry hair) and guys would hit on me and girls would chat with me and ask where i went to high school and i was like we graduated together! have you ever "run" into the mall to grab something real quick and not been completely done and have them treat you completely differently than when you have your hair done and make up on? its sad how others judge you on your apperance. i know its like preaching to the choir, but dont worry about what other people think. i was told by my grandmother when i was very young, that its not what you think, its what everyone else thinks. that is a bunch of crap in my book now that im 23. love yourself and your life b/c trust me, if you are worrying about it now, it will continue to bother you as an adult and its hard to un-do that damage. i still go to work with wet hair and only eyeliner and mascara ( i look 12 without it) and i could care less if they like it or not. i am who i am and i value my sleep. who can say they get up 30 min before they go to work?! dont worry! you are wonderful and trust me after high school, it wont matter!
