Why do people still think its a big deal when 16 year olds get pregnant and people having sex before their married?





Im still a virgin and everything and I want to have sex after marriage but its so annoying when really conservative people think its a big deal when a 16 year old gets pregnant or people have sex before their married. It's not a big deal! I hate when really conservative people look down on people who are sexually active because its not a bad thing. Some people prefer to wait after marriage and some people don't. I wish people were more open-minded.

Reply:Only someone immature like you would have something to say like that. You don't know how it is until you grow up. That's too much responsibility to take on at such a young age. You have to think for the future. How are you going to pay for the baby? What kind of job can you get at the age of 16 with no education? You will live a hard troubled life vs. those who waited. Threre's a reason why so people lecture people in this situation. Listen and learn.

Reply:I am so proud of you for your comment and statement on this situation. your parents should be very proud of you for what you have said. My 16 yr old got pregnant and had my grandson 20 days before her 17th b-day. when I found out she was pg I started to cry. she was to young and I didnt raise my children to go out and do this. you cant stop them if they leave to hang out with their friends and so forth. but she is a very good mother to her son. and no the father isnt involved in the baby's life .. good luck to you in the future..... again I am very proud of you!!!!

Reply:i have no problem with 16 year olds having sex or people having sex before they are married. i do however have a massive problem with 16 year olds having babies. regardless of how you feel when you are 16 you are not mature enough to have a child. never. this is not being close minded this is being realistic. you need to be able to provide emotional and financial (and i don't mean welfare) stability to your child and you need to have lived part of your adult life in order to teach and guide your child in life. none of which can be done by a 16 year old child.

Reply:It is a BIG thing when a woman gets pregnant at ANY age. It is the BIGGEST thing in the world. Bringing another life into the world is huge! Loving, protecting, caring for that baby should not be taken lightly. Having a child SHOULD impact your life more than ANYTHING else and that impact should be with you until you die. That's the way it was for my parents and that is the way it is for me and my wife towards our children. It is a sad day indeed when 16 year old girls think having a child is no big deal. They can have the child while in school, let welfare pay for everything and take no responsibility whatsoever in the child's life. That is why we have more grandparents raising their grandchildren than ever before. So getting pregnant is no big deal at 16? What is your job? How much do you earn? How much can you save for the child's needs? I know: None of my business. But you see it really is MY business. I spent years working for a youth shelter and family service center. I have seen it all. I've seen the young girls having babies so they will have someone who loves them. I've seen them feel guilty when they want to go out and can't because of the baby. I've seen them struggle through the system alone. Just remember, it aint the same for the average 16 year old girl at is for Madona and all the other rich Hollywood actresses that preach the "Be free, have the child on your own" message. Those actesses have a whole staff that takes care of the baby while they do whatever they want. I can't tell you the number of girls I have seen end up in low income housing alone with a handful of kids and a fist full of foodstamps. It aint that glamorous.

Reply:i don't look down on those that are sexually active when their over 18. but to me when you have sex as a teen you let someone take your right to be a child away. sex is called adultery because it's meant for adults so when you have sex as a teen your saying i want kids now. because that's whats it leads up to. so any teen that is sexually active should not use the excuse "I'm still a kid" because they gave that up with their virginity. because kids shouldn't be doing stuff that gives them kids. if you are a teen and sexually active then you have decided to be an adult and not a kid. cause adults conceive and kids are "pure"

Reply:what 16 year old is mentally prepared for being a mother???? thats like saying a 7 year old is ready for high school....it just dont work like that...get in the real world....at 16 its not the kid raising the kid...its the kids' parents raising the kid....which is complete crap.....keep your damn clothes on until you're 18....its not that hard...if not, USE CONDOMS AND LOTS OF THEM IF YOU MUST BE EASY LIKE THAT...
Reply:If you are in love and have been with your boyfriend at least 6 months I dont think sex is a problem at 16. But getting pregnant is because you are still in school and cant even support yourself yet so how are you suppose to support a baby.

Reply:It is a big deal if a 16 year old gets pregnant because it's a child having a baby. Now having sex before marriage is not an issue if the person is in their 20's and is practicing safe sex. Because that person is being responsible and not getting pregnant or any sexual trasmitted diseases. Not only that but there mind is more developed than at the age of 16 So you have a misconception on being conservative. And are arguing on and confusing two different issues.
Reply:i think the main issue with 16 getting pregnant is that your still in the point of learning and well still in high school. if you don't past high school because ur got pregnant would be a hard time to even get a job in the future. which is not all that true but the struggle is a lot harder because u may have a bogus bf father who might not stup up. as for having sex before getting married well thats a bunch of BS. i believe if your going to stay with someone wouldn't you want to try the goods before you spend a life long commitment. you don't want to spend 50 plus years of weak azz sex.

Reply:Obviously you aren't mature enough to have sex yet...It is a big deal when KIDS get pregnant at the age of 16. It's stupid, irresponsible and proves that they shouldn't be having sex. If they are going to do it, then they should be smart enough to be doing it safely and with as much protection as possible.


It's up to the person. There is nothing wrong with pre-marital sex in my eyes, but that doesn't mean I think teens should be having sex. There is a big difference, but obviously you don't know that.
