Why do people ask so many racist questions about black people and then ask if black people are racist?

In Yahoo! groups, there are so many bigoted questions about black people... yet there are not so many (if any) about white people by black people, and then white people ask questions about why we feel discriminated against, why we still think racism is a problem... I mean just look at the questions on this board, a general gathering of people in society- the mindset of many of the white people on here is bigoted, narrow-minded and backwards. Is it really hard for white people to comprehend that possibly racism still exists... and they just don't know or understand because they are White? Or do white people think they can understand a black person's experience in the USA without ever having been black and discount a black person's experience because it doesn't align with their idea of what the world is 'supposed' to be like?

Just because there are racist white people (and there are, for sure) doesn't mean there AREN'T racist black people. But since there are more white people in the USA, there are more white racists. I am always ashamed and embarrassed by racists; they always assume all other white people are racists, too. They tell 'jokes' and use racial slurs, it's terrible. But, honestly, most of us white people really aren't like that. It's just that the decent people aren't likely to be seen. We don't declare ourselves, we don't post questions like "I love people of all races; do you love them too?", so you only see the bigoted crap. I'm sorry it comes across that way. We don't talk about race because it isn't important to us. Try to keep that in mind when you see the racist questions. We hate those jerks, too.

And when you ask why, it's always some cop out back to: whites keeping them down. Got news for you...was the mercy of certain whites, that got blacks out too!

The black experience in the USA? I got news for you, any other nation, you'd have it 100 times worse. Only in the USA can people ride the system, and strut down the street like they got something going.





I work with black people from other countries and they systematically slam blacks in the USA. I don't ask why but, I'm going to assume that they want me to know that they work hard, and don't play games, and don't have cop out as part of their lingo.

I would say that white people are probably the most racist of all, but the best at keeping it to themselves...Its not hard to learn quickly that if you don't have something nice to say, you don't say it at all. It happens to be a fact that the majority of Hate crimes committed during 2004 were by African-Americans at a little more then 5,000 case, but white people weren't far behind with a little less then 4,000. Asians and native Americans commit the fewest at a little below 100 and 4 respectively.
