Why do people under estimate People who listen 2 heavy metal or thrash metal? Thy r just as smart as anyone!?

Too many people under estimate metal heads. Yesterday @ school I wuz wearing a matalica shirt and somebody told me to go hang out with some people that r emo because i don't "belong" with the jocks. I just wanted 2 play some football! What is so rong with that! That just shows how judgemental some people r. People have been judging people for as long as i can remember, people judge my dad because he has long hair and just the way he looks. People have been judging my mom because she wars cut off sleve t shirts and and mostly black shorts. If you don't get thefeeling of hair standing up on the back of ur neck when u listen to rock, metal, punk, thrash, or emo music thats ur problem, but don't pick on us, and if u dont get that felling of wonder, by the looks of the 2,000 people that went to the vans warped tour were doing fine without ya'!

I wear a lot of dark colors and "weird" jewelry. I came to a new school last year and most of them (not trying to stereotype but) were preps. Everybody asks if I'm emo or goth. I say no but they still call me that because of the music I listen to or the clothes I wear.
Reply:I don't under estimate ppl who listen to different types of music....its just a choice of music...it has nothing to do with how smart u are or how dependable u are...sometimes ppl can be ignorant
Reply:Right on. That's just people judging other's on what type of music they listen to. I love Opeth, Killswitch Engage and others. I don't even wear black or makeup. I never liked to. Or listen to it really loud. I'm afraid to hurt my ears.
