I've read all the coments about how much people hate these type of people. I work in a store and people usually come to me. But sometimes I get people that are trying to sell me something, sometimes I do buy sometimes I don't, I just don't understand why some people are so mean, and disrespectfull, no realizing that these people are trying to feed their family and be able to work. I thought about about a lot and I think I couldn't do what they do, because I think that is the hardest job anyone could have, and if people don't realize that they are working harder than we are. I think those are the kind of people that we be worried about. Because if you are respectfull to someone they will be respectfull back at you.
I just don't understand so much hate, towards a person that works so hard.
People that hate door salespeople and people that call you.?
I'm not mean to them, but I don't want to talk to them and I won't buy anything. My home is my sanctuary and I like it to be quiet and unbothered.
Those jobs are really terrible, anyways. They should find something else if at all possible.
Reply:People do not like sales people because they seek them out during their home time. Or during business hours they call at the worst time.
If people want goods and services they will usually seek them out themselves.
Reply:You are right. People hate these hard working people for no good reason. Fortunately, most people who choose this line of work have a very high level of self esteem and understand that people are not rejecting them, that are just rejecting their offer. These people also get to meet good people like you who treat them well, so when they do come across a mean person, they know that it is not their fault and that the mean person has the problem.
People who do this work long enough actually start to feel sorry for the people who treat them bad, since they know that they did not do anything to deserve it and that the mean person must lead a miserable life.
Check out (http://www.salesandmarketinghelp.com ) for more info on this type of "cold calling" skill.
Reply:People just don't want to be bothered by sales people unless and until they are looking to buy something! There is nothing more annoying than to get phone calls at dinner time or in the evening when you're trying to relax. I was in sales almost my entire working life and I could never be a cold call salesperson. I sold where buyers came to me looking to buy and wanting my assistance. The ones you are describing could easily find another form of sales to support their families.
