Some people in here need help really bad!?

I just took a look at the points leader here in yahoo answers. It’ amazing that the leading person has 138,842 points. Some other guy has answered 39,622 questions. Can you believe that? What do these people do for a living? I imagine that these people have no real live outside Yahoo.

I was watching the news today and they mentioned that some studies suggest that people can become hooked on electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops and other similar devices. These people experience withdrawal symptoms just like some drug addicts experience. Symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood swing and the like. But that is true also for people who watch a lot of TV.

Could these people be hooked on Yahoo Answers? I imagine that it must consume an incredible amount of their time to reply to so many questions. There has to be something wrong with this people. Am I the only one to thinks so? I mean, does it look normal to you? In my opinion, some of these people need some help...bad!!!

Some people in here need help really bad!?
yes, i think being addicted to electronics is no different than being addicted to drugs. some people give up things in their life like spending time with family and friends and basic necessities like eating and sleeping just to be on the computer or playing video games. i think i am one of those electronics addicts. but i dont know what to do to get help for myself :(
Reply:My guess is they are on Yahoo answers WHILE they are at work! Because some jobs are so boring you have to kill about 6 out of the 8 hours! It beats standing outside and smoking and drinking coffee!
Reply:i absolutely agree with you, i enjoy reading and answering some, and get a lot of tips from them but not to that extent!!!
Reply:Youre right,

they have nothing better to do and need help.
Reply:I spend too much time on the computer and would probably have withdrawl with out it and even I look at people who have that many points and wonder what is going on.

If it interferes with other areas of their lives like work, relationships, sleeping, etc. then yes they have a problem.
Reply:It does seem a bit much but I have learned different strokes for different folks.Maybe they are retired and really enjoy Yahoo. I think if it makes them happy and it is not hurting me, Mazletop !(sp?)
Reply:Yay! You've just given me the opportunity for another 2 points!

Now vote me as your best answer for another 10 points....go on.....pleeeeease....you know you want to!

Oh, and I've no friends....will you be my friend?
Reply:ok

that is a lot

but maybe they enjoy helping ppl
Reply:how do u know it's just one person , my husband and i both get on here
Reply:when u have that many pointsits sad
Reply:I know what you mean. I'm hooked on Y!A, I can't go more than a few hours without my computer. I'm also hooked on computer games. I can't imagine life without it and need a regular fix every day. When I moved to Mexico, I had to wait more than a month for my computer to arrive. I nearly went crazy.

The only thing I worry about if I were to get in trouble with the law is, would they take away my computer?

On the other hand, I don't have a TV. I probably spend as much time on-line as some people spend watching TV.

I suppose we could start an on-line support group, ha, ha! What would we call it? Get a life anonymous?
Reply:Think for a minute, "how do you think, they got to spending so much time surfing and answering questions as such?" is that not what your kind of doing yourself? Your comment is so analytical, sounds as if your one of those people who is actually studied! Have fun...
Reply:Yes I do agree with you! Especially the ones who look here for counseling and questions regarding their own mental health! It breaks my heart for I come here when I am bored with nothing better to do. I end up worrying about some of these people who post.
Reply:oh, yea. i was on here constantly because it felt like nobody around me in my real life would listen to me. but if you think that is a problem, check http://answers.yahoo.com/my/profile;_ylt...

this guy has a total fascination with pee and children, and people willingly give the dude information about their own children. PEOPLE PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!!!!
Reply:Let me act i care...
Reply:Me too dude.
Reply:Those numbers seem ridiculous to me too. I like to come on and answer questions while watching TV. I wonder how many hours a day and for how many days it would take to get that many points.
Reply:Thank you, I guess from those numbers I'm only 5% as addicted to this as some people.
Reply:Does it really matter? Those people just choose to spend their time doing that. I'm on here a lot myself but that doesn't mean I don't have a life. I sit in front of a computer at work all day and have nothing else to do during the slow times.. so I'm here!
Reply:maybe they are answering from their job.

you have a limit everyday so I dont think they have hours at the computer on Answers.
Reply:i totally agree...sure i want to get alot of points but i have a life....they need one!
Reply:wow i agree u should look at my points i dont even have a 100 i have better things to do.maybe these people sit home all day on the computer doing this u never know they might do this as a living.
Reply:don't you have anything else to do than watch people that don't have anything to do than helping others to find answers with questions they don't know what to do with it so they have to turn to the people that you are watching?
Reply:I agree with you completely, but how do they are suppose to stop it, by now with that many points, they are addicted. There is no orgination for people who is addicted to Yahoo, the only suggestion that I know of is to leave them alone and let them keep doing what they are doing, no one is getting hurt.
Reply:omg...that many points....not me...not you.....
Reply:As far as I know, there is a limit on how many questions someone can answer per day. That would mean that they can only spend so much time here and they've probably been doing it for quite a while.

I'm wondering why anyone would spend their time reading through other people's points and trying to figure out why they are so high. There are several reasons why someone may have high points. Mostly, from giving a lot of 'Best Answers' (which would mean a lot of people were either helped, or happy with what that person said). Maybe they are retired, after a long, happy, and rewarding life, and find helping people through Yahoo Answers, a rewarding pass time. That you feel you must associate something negative to it, makes it sound like YOU have the problem.

Since you asked this question and are someone who spends time reading other people's points, I happened to look through your homepage. You sound jealous, bitter, and sexually inept.

Try growing up and worrying about your own shortcomings. It certainly looks like you have a lot of them.
Reply:and you think they answered those questions in just 1 day ?
Reply:i agree with you. if you answer that many questions then thats all you must do. i dont think its right, and yeah they need help. they need to start something like YAA (Yahoo! Answers Anonymous.) lol
Reply:to much of any thing is bad for you . every thing must balance out in life . I suppose they have not learn this as of yet.
Reply:i totally agree with u. most peps that do these things have no life and dont get out enough! i come on here wen im exteamly bored! u can see by my score that its crap. i just come on here to adk questions. but yeh peps do tv, games, etc way to much and shouldnt waste their lifes doing pointless things

somethings are addictive though
Reply:Help, I only need to few more points for Level 4.

Just kidding...

I think some people do get hooked on Yahoo Answers.

The Smart A$$, the comedians, and the politically INcorrect for starters.
