People who go out of their way to disrespect...?

People seem to think that now they can group Green Day with the un-punk bands and say that they aren't punk and that the ONLY people who listen to it is girls rebelling against their daddies. ut, have they forgotten what punk was all about? It's rebellion, anarchy, and people tend to apply music to their life in general anyway! I am a grown up dude and I like them and respect them as artist.

They say that Green Day is getting old, but like wine- things get better with age. There are alot older bands that they don't complain about.

Every one has the right to their opinion, but you shouldn't go out of your way to diss someone. If some one post a thread pertaining to Green Day, then automatically some people are thinking how funny it would be to piss them off.

Further more, people again start to complain about the rebellion thing. They say, "This song is nothing but teen angst." I think it is weird for the mere fact that it's mostly people who like other rock genres.

People who go out of their way to disrespect...?
One thing people seem to forget is when you have a band like Green Day that has been around for over a decade (my god I am getting old, I have been a fan since the beginning), they age! They get older! They get married and have families and settle down. And guess what? They have different things to say, different styles. People change, music is ever evolving. You cannot possibly expect someone to be singing and writing the same exact way after over a decade of life. Now I think Green Day has shifted from punk, but when someone has had such a big impact on music of the mid 1990s (a fantastic impact at that) I think they should be allowed to do whatever the hell they like. And hell, we should be praising them for lasting as long as they have, most bands never make it past 1 year of fame, let alone 12.

Another thing to keep in mind is most of the people saying Green day sux monkey ballz aren't even old enough to remember Dookie playing on the air as new music so what do they know about punk music anyway? Punk barely even exists anymore so they need to stop talking about things they don't know anything about.
Reply:As it happens, it's not a personal opinion that Greenday aren't punk. Its an actual fact. Jesus, Johnny Rotten the King of Punk said they weren't punk, and who would know better? I have nothing against fans of Greenday. I have something against people saying they're punk, but then not knowing who Black Flag are.

And baby, I'm all for teen angst, believe me they're my people...
Reply:Green Day sux dude but i luv metal 2 so............
Reply:Green Day has never pissed me off, I just don't like a group of people who always say they are right and you are wrong. Always. Like the Bush Administration is on the other side of spectrum. Both sides have been pushed to the far right and left and the people are the battle field.
