People from each area of the United States?

Simple enough question - what are the majority of people like from each area of the United States? I live in the US, but just want other people's opinions. Let's divide it into categories: New England (New England States and sorrounding states close by), the south east (Carolinas, Virginia, Florida, etc.), the deep south (Alabama, Lousiania, Mississippi, etc.), the mid-west (Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, the Dakoktas, Montana, etc.), the south west (Arizona, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, etc.), and the pacific northeast (California, Oregon, Washington, etc.)....

I just want to find out people's opinions on how the people are in each area of the country, the general "feel" or traditions or styles of each area, what life and culture is like there, and what kinds of people would like it there. People who know all areas of the country would be best to answer these questions... thanks everyone.

People from each area of the United States?
I live in New Orleans and its pretty much all about food and music.

We're known for our festivals like Jazz Fest and Mardi Gras which is just about hanging with friends, meeting new people, eating some food, drinking some drink, listening to some music, etc.

Its a real laid back place and the people are mostly friendly.
Reply:The Pacific Northwest is beautiful and the people are laid back......lots of out door activities .camping, sailing, surfing and a great spiritual place.

Southwest is really dry in the summer but beautiful too.snow isn't a real subject here ,Foods are great ,green and red chili, peopleare culturally diverse and friendly Many indigineous peoples ,and hispanics, also a large anglo population.

Midwest flat, cold, bible belt, conservative.

southeast beautiful great universities, cultural diversity , conservative/ rural areas , christian conservative slower income areas

New England Democratic, highly educated, lots of things to do! Love the east Very expensive to live here...lots of museums, etc.people are kinda snobby.....
Reply:I am from Oklahoma. People here are pleasant and friendly. Lots of "good ol boys". Things are not to expensive here when you compare it to things on the west coast. I wish we put more importance on education though. The weather is great. Few tornadoes but nothing to much to worry about. Oklahoma is a good place ot live and raise a family.
Reply:I live in upstate NY, 500 ft. from Lake Ontario, and up here it's about surviving the snow and cold and making it to the next summer. Other than that it's great..........
Reply:I have lived all over the world and by far where I currently lives is my favorite. I am attending school in Ames, Iowa.

The people here are so nice, and friendly. It doesn't matter what you need if you ask someone they are more than willing to help. the lifestyle here is more laid back and less fast paced. I mean we don't move at the speed of snails but slower than NYC.

Many people in this area are very centered around our families. it's important to see them, spend time with them and just have a great time. I used to live in Omaha, Nebraska and I also liked that city because it isn't a huge city but not a small town either but can offer everything that a big city does.

I take great offense when people say we are all corn frowers who wear overalls. While attending school I work for a top 10 insurance agency that is headquartered in iowa.

Hope that helps
