How can people still be racist?

This is not just for whites because every race has people racist against another group.... Also I don't understand how most black people are from my area (the north) don't like almost all white people even though white people did go to war with other white people for no more slavery, so it's not like it was all white people.... I mean I get along with anyone that doesn't make me mad... So wouldn't you just want to hate the people that are just blatantly racist? I mean I see white kids go out and try to be black and then turn around and say I hate them N words which is absolutely retarded....

Also, why do darker skinned people say the N word when they aren't even black and still get away with saying it? I personally think no one should say the N word especially black because M.L.K Jr. was fighting against that stuff.....

How can people still be racist?
Some of these fools are taught racism by their racist parents.
Reply:I thinkk that you explained the hypocritize in the world. I agree with you 100%.
Reply:Stop the hate!

Racism is one of mans greatest crimes.

And just so you know, the north went to war to stop cessation of the south. Not to end slavery.

The south wanted cessation for the purpose of keeping slavery.
Reply:Because people refuse to act as equals but demand to be treated as such, thats why racism still exits.
Reply:because the older generation taught the younger generation how to spread hate when i get older i wouldn't teach my kids none of this racial crap it's annoying
Reply:The answer to all of these questions is simple: People are still idiots.
Reply:It is true that there are still many "secret" racists. Hell we live in a government that is still racist. We all say that we are all equal and fair and that we treat everyone the same but do we. We are all driven by stereotypes that we have seen in the media or have been told. I mean if you get on a plane today and you saw a man wearing a turbin would you be hesitate. Wouldnt you feel safer if he was off the plane. Now if you think about this situation you have just labeled a Middle Eastern person as a terrorist. Do you really think that if he came up to you that you would have treated him equally. Most likely not. All you no the person could be a Sikh which has nothing to do with Islam but is its own religion. We all wish we can be equal but cant. We can try but to do so we have to see these stereotypes as they are, as not always true images.

I do agree with you that racial slurs should stop no matter who says them. It seems wrong that one racial group have the power over a racialized word where if anyone of a different race says it is considered a racist.

As for being from the North it doesnt mean that they are racist free. The south left the Union that is what started the Civil War not the fight over freeing the Slaves. Slavery was never on the goals of the War until January 1863, 2 years into the war. As saying that the North had no slaves even that is untrue. Kentucky who fought along with the North had slavery going on in the state during the war.

For the White kids that you see acting Black a lot of that is how media portrays Blacks as "in fashion" or what is in right now. Hundred years ago acting Black was called Blackface which has been seen as racist yet today it is accepted.

It is good that you look for friends not by race but how you can get along with them. That is a good step but just remember how much of your friendship is shaped by the stereotypes of their race.
Reply:So, would you like to Supersize that order, Binky?
