Why Do People Take Everything Personally? (Read details before answering)?

I have been reading alot of the questions and answers about various races, racism, racial inequality, stereotyping, etc. I have noticed that alot of times, when the asker has described a very specific group of people (for example, lazy people, greedy people, people who expect handouts, people who act/dress trashy, single parents who DONT try to support their children, people who drop out of school for no GOOD reason, people who dont even TRY to get a job and live off the government) there are always some people who start in with things like "Im not like that, so dont bring me into it" (If it doesnt sound like you, then its not talkin about you, so dont bring yourself into it) or "Not all *insert race* are like that, so stop stereotyping" (even when the asker specifically states that they are not refering to everyone of that race, only those fitting the description.) Are people so obsessed with anti-racism that they begin to see it where it clearly doesnt exist?

Why Do People Take Everything Personally? (Read details before answering)?
Well one thing that some people who aren't the targets of racism can't seem to understand is why do lets say "black people" do certain things. Well when you've been called a ****** many of times and heard people attribute certain negative things to you b/c of your skin color...ITS HARD NOT TO GET OFFENDED. no offense but ive heard that question from white people a lot...why do (lets say blacks) take everything so personally and why when our Ancestors went through slavery do we get mad....well it's simple...ALL BLACKS no matter where have once been told subliminally or directly that we are not equal and will never be equal to whites. RACISM STILL EXISTS...and it's not your fault but the fact is you benefit more from society then i ever will b/c of my skin color...SO UNTIL YOU LIVE THE LIFE of a minority(if you're not one now) you can't really say...it's like trying to figure something out about the opposite sex...it doesn't work cuz you're not one!!!
Reply:I believe that it is because most persons will try to relate statements to how they-themselves perceive things.

Somewhat the whole purpose of asking a question, is to get someone elses 'personal-opinion' about the issue being asked-about.
