People know me but I don't know them?

This has happened a few times over the past 2 years.


People will come up to me and begin talking to me like they've known me their entire life.


I don't think it's mistaken identity because i'd think they realized they had the wrong person after a few minutes. A couple of the people knew my name.





But people just begin talking to me, asking how everything is going, how my summer was going.





Most recently someone came up to me and said "Hi! How have you been? We haven't talked in so long. How have things been?"


I don't really know what to say because I can't remember ever meeting or even seeing these people for the life of me.





It's happened almost only with people who go to the same school as I do, so I don't think they are really completely strangers.


Any reason why I just can't remember these people. I must have some importance to them by the way they speak to me, but I just cannot remember them.


Any ideas?

People know me but I don't know them?
Some people make bigger deals out of small things than others. You may have sat next to them in a class, or one of their friends liked you or whatever. But since it probably wasn't particularly significant to you, you won't make any mental note of it.
Reply:Do you drink alot? Maybe you've partied with them and were blacked out.
Reply:drinking or drugs could cause this. or you could just be totally self-obsessed and float through life not caring about and ignoring others.





don't get me wrong, it's happened to me a couple times. but i smoked a lot of pot as a teenager. but it sounds like it happens to you more than that, so i'd say you have some sort of intelligence/memory/ego problem.

so you don,t remember, now don,t get upset,or even miffed, but the people you do not remember are not worth it, somewhere in the spiritual world, they are not worth remembering, sounds weird or crule, i know, but this is just a passing thought about this,


sure the entire thing about not remembering people who seem to know you is, or can even be a bit unnerving, i don,t know what to say about all this, as it being in school, let another ten or fifteen years go by, see about remembering, some people are just being friendly and know you don,t really know them, well i shouldn, t say friendly , i don,t know what is going on here, anyway, hope you have some answers,
