Why do people stereotype white people's looks as plain?

It seems everyone is saying white people have plain looks when in reality, they're the most varying race of all with the widest range of looks. Capable of both Caucasian-only and common ethnic features. Here are the top stereotypes I've seen on Yahoo about white people from people on this board.

1. If you're white and you tan, you want to be black. Tanning is natural process. Some places, you can't keep a tan up year round but it is possible without tanning beds. Tanning beds/spray tans are just more accessible, faster and easier. If a white person stays in the sun long enough, they will tan the same amount as if they used a tanning bed. However no one says that black people are trying to be white when black people wear blue contacts, blonde hair and lighten their skin.

2. White people have thin lips and get lip injections to get lips that black people have naturally. Not all black people have thick lips and not all white people have thin lips. Angelina Jolie, Mick Jagger, Liv Tyler, Scarlett Johansson. All white with full lips,

3. White women get breast implants. Big deal. Asians and black women get breast implants too. It's not a white only surgery.

4. White people get nose jobs. However if you go to Asia, you will find about 90% of Asians would love to have the high bridge European nose and at least 40% of them will get plastic surgery to obtain it.

5. White people are fat and get liposuction. Every race has fat people and every race gets liposuction.

So it's obvious all of these stereotypes are wrong so why do other races have to bash white people's looks for no reason? Why do people buy into these myths? I'm Melungeon so I'm not siding with white people. I'm neutral. I just don't get it. If you've ever done it, why? Does it make you feel better or something?

Why do people stereotype white people's looks as plain?
Because you guys have that plain white look

that Pasety Look
Reply:Whites stereotype everyone else
Reply:i actully started tanning because my doctor told me to...i need to get more vitamin d....and i love my features i wouldnt change a thing about it...and i think its the fact that so many people always want to look different...but there are some white people who are proud of there looks..like me:-)
Reply:Well I think that all races of people are beautiful! I've never heard the stereotype that all White People are plain but I don't see how anyone can say that because a White Person can range in looks from a snow-white ginger like Marcia Cross to a Olive skin toned Spaniard like Penelope Cruz and both are beautiful! As i said all races are beautiful but if people are saying that White people are ugly then they are obviously very ignorant and small minded.

Lol @ the person that said having big breasts isnt the natural physic for a White Woman!! Big Breasts are something that White Women have been known to posess from time and believe me there are just as many White Women who have naturally big breasts as there are 'ethnic women.' While it is debateable as to whether most White Women naturally have a big ***, having big breasts is something that White Women are known for (hence the saying that White Men prefer Breasts and Black Men prefer ***)!
Reply:What in blue blazes are you talking about? You must be new here! If you stick around long enough you will see that everyone bashes everyone. There is not one ethnic group OR nationality on YA! that doesn't get criticised over looks. You may think it's all against whites but that's probably because that's what you are looking out for.

No one ethnic group is plain. What white people have over other non-whites is the variation of hair and eye colour and that can be fixed with dye and contact lenses. A similar question was asked yesterday and thinking about it now other than hair and eye colour all ethnic groups and display features more associated with another ethnic group.

Edit:

I have never come across anyone saying white peoples looks are plain. And the examples you give have nothing to do with your question. When you are talking about thin lips or small breasts that's just a stereotype of a white persons looks and nothing to do with being plain.
Reply:WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

u SERIOUSLY HAVE ISSUES
Reply:i can personally say that from my experience with caucasian women that they always seem to want the look that the do not naturally posses.

1. tanning - they insult each other for being too pale(but it can be pretty on some).

2. lip injections - they all want the "pouty" lip look, and if its not by injection then its with the affects of make-up

3. breast implants - its not a natural physic for them, but men love it. and true women of all ethnic backgrounds get them

4. nose jobs - i dont understand it

5. lipo - they are too obsessed with being skinny instead of loving their curves and figures.

i think that caucasian women feel the need to change their look due to the pressures of society. the media definitely insist that the perfect american looks a certain way and every time there is a blonde hair, blue eyed caucasian with no imperfections that all others seem to long to be like.

one word - stereotype

really no diff than the "black" thug or illegal "mexican." put enough of it on tv and that's what america assumes.
Reply:actually, black people that bleach they skin, get blue contacts, and blonde hair ARE tryin to be white. Its a commonly-held point of view.

As for nosejobs, asians only get nosejobs because colonialism imprinted a european ideal of beauty. The same happened among blacks in the americas. White people just managed to brainwash the people they colonised, it had nothing to do with you inherently being more attractive.
Reply:Yeah....so your Melungeon right? why are you always praising white people if your mixed with so many races. Do you ever ask questions that AREN'T about white people this, white people that. Are you a self hater or something? Because all you talk about is white people.
Reply:That's the problem with this world...everyone is so worried about "race"! Last time I checked we were all of the SAME race...the "human race". It doesn't matter what size your nose, lips or eyes are, we are all the same. Though different in small ways...none of us are plain.

'Why do you really want to know...what do you wish to gain?'

Does it truly matter?
