People please read this and tell me what your opinion is,it's about Iran?

Hi people.I'm Iranian and I live in Iran.When I chat with people from other countries, I understand that they have totally wrong ideas about Iran.I just wrote this articlae to correct you.


The first thing they accuse our government of, is that they don't let you be free.Actually, Iranians would be some of the most free people in the world, since thousands of millions of strict rules in other countries, don't even excist in Iran.Our goverment tried to not to let western cultures influence ours, by prohibiting videos and sattelites, but in Iran every single house has one, so the government's agreed with having them.Currently, they don't provide high-speed internet, cos they think people may watch sextual and immoral films on the internet, however the highest speed in Iran at present is 128 k, but they're now thinking of providing 500 k speed.I know whatever our government says is for our own good.You know why? Let me give you an example:I suppose kissing in public is not forbiddon where you live, cos it's a part of your culture.But doing the same thing here is offensive.It's not that it's bad or something.You need to act according to your culture.People who don't, and have unreasonable behaviour that is considered immoral behaviour, are considered hooligans. Sattelite channels had a serious influence on people, now the way they wear clothes sounds like western countries, only there's scarves that don't don't seem to be worn because we're Muslems.People wear fashionable scarves to make themselves more attractive and most part of they hair is out.They do whatever they wish to, and some of the things they do, don't fit our culture at all, however it's now slighty normal in Iran, since people seem to have got used to such acts and behavioures.Most of the rules that seem not to be reasonable are abolished almost afer 1-2 years, because people really don't obey them.Whether those rules exist or not Iranians do whatever they wish to! You really need to pay a visit to Iran and you'll be surprised seeing that what you imagined before and how the real Iran is! It's wonderful, believe me.People, the Iran you knew, is related to at least 20 years ago, and now everything's so great.


Some people think music is forbiddon in Iran, but did you know that Iranian pop music has won the nobel prize in France?Iran's full of music nd they're all current pop music.The best you've ever heard, and in case you're curious to hear some, e-mail me and I'll send you some.


Oh, and some people think women don't have any rights in Iran! What would you tell me if I tell you that women are now overtaking Iran? They're behaved very well, most of the times they're the winners in most cases: They get into the best universities, they get the best jobs, they've got rights that have made it difficult for men to marry them, because husbands seem to be under control of women and they have to buy them expensive things and not to treat them very well, otherwise women will have the right to divorce them, and then the husband'll have to pay them a great amount of money which most husbands cannot afford paying that amount of money! (so they can simply sit in the corner of prison! lol)


Some people think, Iran's a desert! People Iran's a modern country with very beautiful nature and lots of historical places to visit.Please take a look at the following links and see if Iran looks like what you think or not!

just the length of the question is enough to scare away everyone from answering! lol Americans believe that they have the "right" culture which should be compared to every other place. Most of us Americans are stupid when it comes to having knowledge about how other countries operate. America is most definitely not a role model for giving women power- I think we are in 25th place =) behind Afghanistan and Iraq.
Reply:Forgive some of the posters here for amerians only have read the propaganda of what your president said in American news reports and yes today sorry to say we live in a propagnada country. Have read the actual translations in French , British, African, Asian news, Al' Jazeera and others and it differs much from the dogma and jingoistic bombast by a leadeship who wants to control the world in actuality.


The words used by your president over here were pushed on us as saying Israel should be wiped off the map so as you can see the context was wrong, the meniton of Zionist policys not written here, all to influence Americans into flames of hatred towards your country.


Your country is the true cradle of Civilization and organization, of course over here it is Euphrtes , Tigris river valleys and Babylon and we forgt the Persains almost completley to concentrtaate on Jews instead. we are told it was babylon and Garden of Eden.


There is a body of thought that even the garden of eden may of been in Iran, and not the tigris Euphrates valley, located in an area of red earth, Adam means man of red earth, with the two mountains the spring., and the origin of the three rivers. It is even noted that the Taj mahal is a design based upon the Garden and the rivers.


It is good that you put what you feel about your country into words and reach out to explain how you and your countrymen feel.


In our schools most of us were never taught of your cultures or writings of the past as we were indoctrinated with a White Eurocentric belief that no one else on earth was as civilized as we.


Most Americans know very little of your country and cultures within, the sad part is many do not want to as it does not fit their need to feel superior.One aspect as an example. americans believe woemn in your country are completly downtrodden but know not of your countrys Day of the Woman celebration.


One of your more modern Islamic teachers pointed out that science only reveals the wonders of .... and what comes from ... is good but the use man puts them to may not be good.


Most do ot know of Cyrus, of the Medes he fred them frm and its reign orf over 200yers "first among equals and a "father" On whoms modest tombstone are these words written;


"O man, whomsoever thou art and whencesoever thou comest, for I know that thou wilt come, for I am Cyrus, and I won for the Persians their empire. Do not, therefore, begrudge me this little earth which covers my body."


Little do they know the term "magi" is Persian and means Persian Priest!


Darius who came after the misery of the son of Cyrus named Camyses, and what he wrote of the three froms of governement- democracy, oligarchy and democracy, "I (Darius) maintain that monarchy far surpasses the other two. What government can possibly be better than that of the very bet man in the whole state!"


Not understanding of one anothers cultures leads to distrust and hate and sad to say todays world seems to thrive on hate instead of love.

Reply:Most of the people in the world believe that the Iranian people are nice, that Iran is beautiful, but the fact is it is your government that spouts off about wiping Israel off the map, and removes college professors that speak against the government. Your people we have no problem with. Your government may treat you well but they threaten others around them.
Reply:You people have two problems,Oil and Islamic Law that is 1300 Hundred year old and is basically designed to keep the rich always in control under the name of Allah.In these times when you have telephones in your hip pockets these outdated laws are bound to fail sooner or later.It is better that you people by yourself get rid of Mullahs and bring Iran into modern day and age.
